Here is my new 2021 Trek FX Sport 6 equipped with Spirgrips+ (Kickstarter) on the Schuylkill River Trail. My third ride since upgrading from a 2019 Trek Dual Sport 3. The FX is so much faster and makes uphill climbs easier too. May need a new saddle though...

My new 2021 FX5 Sport taken this morning on a ride in Woodinville, WA, near my home. Loving this bike, smooth and fast and comfortable. Replaced my 2012 7.5FX which I have a friend selling for me. I kept the saddle from the 7.5FX as it is so comfortable, and I upgraded the stock tires to some Panaracer 35's that are amazing (I had them installed on my 7.5FX a few months ago so put the Bontrager R1's on it and put the Panaracer's on the new bike). Tires are Rene Herse Bon Jon Pass made by Panaracer of Japan.

This is shameful for a shop

Care to share with us what you'd change in the cabling? My buddy is a pro bike tech and he didn't say anything about it. Everything works great and I'm not out for style points at all. Just good functionality and reliability.

If that is your hydraulic brake line, that will become a problem with a kink in it like this. Can't really tell, but if it's your shifter line, that too is a problem.
For a higher priced bike like this, the cables should be setup similar to the other Trek's pictured above your original posting.

Nice bike but there was little thought in cable routing/length. (That kink doesn't look good)
If that detail was missed....one can only wonder what else was.

That does look like the right side hydraulic brake line and it looks to me like it's a "kink" from having been rotated or twisted. I bet you can remove the right side grip and right side brake lever and rotate the lever a time or two in either direction to attempt to "unkink" that line. It's not unlike how a pressure washer hose can get bound up if you don't uncoil it correctly.
Once unkinked, that hydraulic line will probably closely follow the right side shifter cable housing.

Thanks for the feedback but there aren't any kinks in any of the cables (just checked, they are all smooth curves with no damage). I was asked by the manager to bring it back a month after purchase for a free minor tune up so when I do that I'll mention it. Here's a photo I took today after my 10 mile ride:

15 miles today on the Ogden River Parkway. This is at the 21st street pond:
Ive really grown to like this bike in spite of its aluminum frame and “Trekness”. The dynamo hub has been fantastic; I don’t even notice it!
Highly modified 2008 Trek 7300

Just Rolling along.
Just started riding again after not riding much at all of 2020. Has been really nice to get back out on my Roll. Really happy I have a nice bike to ride because it's next to impossible to find any type of bike like this in my area let alone any bike under $1500.

No, those black bullhorn bars are not what’s going on it! The seller had them and offered them to me when he found out I use them on my messenger bikes.

My Fuji 1.7 Traverse. Bought it last year in the middle of the pandemic and it helped rekindle my interest in riding. 904 miles on it to date!

So I picked up this 1990 Bianchi Axis cyclocross bike from my local bike collective a few weeks ago for a steal of a price. It had a wicked bend in the handlebars but was otherwise very nice:
All original as far as I could tell, so I bought another drop bar from the collective and wrapped it up with new tape:
Also put on some nicer Suntour XCD Cantilever brakes because I thought they would match the GPX levers and XCD rear derailleur better. But I could never get comfortable on the drops so I changed over to a FSA Metropolitan bar and a quill stem/thread less adapter:
Added some cushy grips and some fat Specialized Nimbus 700x38’s and the bike is transformed! It’s been a lot of fun and I’m excited to put some miles on it. Only thing left to change is the seat to something more aesthetically pleasing and kinder to my nether regions…

Smokinapancake.....did you find out was caused the "wicked" bend in the bar and was there any other damage as a result?
I think getting rid of the dork disc will freshen the look a bit.....

Nope. No idea how it got bent. Otherwise the bike is almost flawless, just a few scuffs in the paint here and there. When I opened up the hubs to overhaul, there was no wear on the bearing races at all. Almost like the bike got ridden, but only home from the shop, then hung in the garage. As far as the dork disc goes, the bike is all Suntour, so to get it off I'd need 2 chain whips to remove the cassette, which I don't have. I'm sure If I thought about it some I could figure a way to get it off, but it doesn't bother me that much....
