This morning watching TDF stage 5 I had to go with the Bianchi TT. Ride home was fun with the heat at around 82°. Slight breeze to stay a bit cool. I felt good after the 8 miles even though I've been off my bike for nearly a month.

Took the 1982 Peugeot PXN 10 out for a 25 mile ride today. I finally dialed in the gearing: 50/34 crank and 14-28 6 speed freewheel.

That's a big cube! Where I work they'd make four cubes out of that and cut down the partitions to about 42" high and call it an open workspace to encourage collaboration.

I’m full remote work at this point. While I’ll miss going into the office to be with coworkers, I’ll in absolutely no way miss the cubicles or the “open floor plan” we were later transitioned to… I usually end up eating about 20 miles for lunch most days now, too. A definite bonus.
I did a bit more exploring in the East River Preserve today. This place was recommended a while back and I’m now finally getting to it for the second time. First was about a week and a half ago. Crummy pics taken quick, but here ya go.

Loma Prieta and Mt Umunhum
I did a ride that I’ve been wanting to do for years. A buddy and I took a day off work yesterday to do this, we figured on a weekday we would have a higher probability of not running into a ranger, We Rodeo up from Los Gatos on Old Santa Cruz then across Summit to Mt Loma Prieta. Ignoring a few gates and signs hit the peak and then took the dirt road to Mt Umunhum (again, not quite legal) . Peaked Umunhum, then descended the road down and returned over Shannon to LG. 5800 ft and 56 miles.

Great stage today on the Tour de Shady Pines! The 20.91 mile course was a bit varied heading down past two colleges and utilizing some of Fort Wayne’s fabulous M.U.P.s. I tried to set a blistering pace but I took a big time penalty with the photo stops. The Tour mascot was there to meet me as I sailed across the finish line without a challenger in sight!
