Bike teardown starts

A few weeks back I picked up a Kestrel KM40 airfoil at a bicycle swap meet and sale. Last week I went to see my painter (Hot Tubes) to get the bike booked into his schedule. Well I'm in luck the next open slot is mid October (lol), he's always got month's worth of work lined up. So I went over some ideas I have and will be emailing him some drawings in the next month or so to give him a base to go by. He knows he has artist freedom to intrepid my drawings, and he's always been spot on. Next week it's off to the bike shop to discuss what group set I want to go with along with bars, wheels, stem, seat post and so on. So today I headed to the bike cave to start the teardown process, but forgot my chain tool at the house. I also have to get my other tools that are still at work so I can pull the crank, but hey it's a start.

Is this in the correct forum? I am known to put stuff in the wrong forum, from time to time. The kind moderators are always good enough to move the threads for me.

It sounds like you have an interesting project ahead, although a few teasers if you have to wait until October to get it painted.
