What brand frame is this?
A recent purchase on eBay. Tange Prestige tubing, nice investment cast lugs, shell, brake bridge, chain stay bridge fittings. Contacted KHS, archivist Allen Bracket said they did not think it was theirs. Seller said it was built up with Dura Ace 7400 kit. Fork is strange, poorly mitered ends and unicrown tig welded, rough. No decals but faint image of a "V" with straight line across bottom on head tube. Wild fade paint, gray white pink. Photos not allowd by Bike Forum until I have ten posts? Why not?. Serial # on down tube by shell: P7479958. any leads? thank you

From your description, unfortunately, it sounds like the fork might not be original to the frameset.

Your bike's s/n matches the format used by Pacific. See the sticky for Asian serial numbers, and this info on Lotus bike s/n's.

Replacement Fork???
The pink spray on the head tube, lugs and fork say it's been in a front-ender to me???
The frame may have been straightened and the fork replaced???

"What brand is this which sits in rest on my bicycle stand this evening.....
With sprays of pink that make me think........
Who was the one that made it...........
Thiiiiiisss, Thiiiiisss is".....................
I apologize, that's the first thing that came to mind reading the thread title. On a serious note, I think the cable guides on the bottom of the TT would help narrow it down.

Weight of frame , fork fixed cup, and binder bolt and head pieces 4.8 lbs. Sized for 26.8mm pillar. Rear drop outs are not marked but look like forged , fork ends appear forged. It could be a hasty respray but looks uniform, no evidence of repaired damage to top, head and down tubes. Replacement fork seems possible. thank you

As noted by Insidious C., the serial number format is consistent with Pacific Cycles of Taiwan and. indicates a 1987-1988 model manufactured in 1987.
The 26.8mm post size is interesting. It's one size too small for the heaviest gauge, Prestige seat tube but one size too large for Tange #1 and Tange #2. Still, given the post size, it would appear to be a Tange tubeset, either a distorted Prestige or an aggressively reamed Tange #1/#2.
Unicrown forks were definitely available in raod models at this time, though not in Prestige. Based on the unicrown, it's almost certainly an off the shelf Tange fork and should have a alpha-numeric date code on the steering column. That should help to increase confidence as to whether it is a OEM or replacement fork.
The grey to white to pink fade is a typical Miami Vice influenced livery of the era. If it's a later repaint, it's hard to imagine somebody voluntarily choosing this, especially a male. Given, the frame size, I doubt the original owner was female.

Thank you all for your kind help, it is appreciated greatly. Did Pacific market bikes as their own, or where they a Original Design Manufacturer in the '80's? Is there a source for new frame transfers, or decals? Thanks!
