Not many of these around... NOS Bianchi

Only got 2 pics but chatting to my lbs owner about titanium, he pulled this out if a cupboard. 1997. I offered €50 but he wasn't having it.

So how much does he want for it?? Did you ask him what his price was?

He wouldn't say. Wouldn't have been correct for me to pin him down with a price when I'm not interested. If it's someone's hearts desiire I can always pass a message on...

First... what size is it? 55cm, 53cm?

Second... that's a smokin' hot frame. Would be a great deal for someone to build up using a modern groupset.

I won't be anywhere near Capestang until Spring at the earliest. I'd be a serious buyer even if it's not my size and I already have the 1996 version in 59cm lol.

I asked the question point blank... €1750.

Luckily none of the NOS steel frames he has are my size.

Sorry but even you know that €50 offer was insulting.

I never make an offer if i know i can't come close to what the market value is for a bike part.

Sometimes a comment or an 'offer' isn't an offer between friends. I have a friendly LBS that ALWAYS tries to sell me a bike when I walk-in, even though they know I'm there for bits and pieces. Love It. Last time they said they had a Domane for $100 - but it was just a glossy poster.

So do Americans that aren't dead from the neck up but even between good friends id revoke their friendship card over an offer like that.

Jeez, relax, this thread started out great with some nice pictures of a rare find and somehow it has become about someone's feelings getting hurt.

Go for a ride

If that wasn't Celest and had Bianchi on it, I would have thought it was a Litespeed Vortex.

It's a very nice frameset, but, judging from the asking price, maybe the "NOS fog" has clouded the seller's perception of that frameset......

II suspect it's more that as an established shop owner he would rather keep it around than part with it. All Columbus SL and SLX (mostly CBT Italia) frames are tucked away in the back as well. Not really worried about selling them as they are very much NOT on display!
