I like front-facing fork/seatstay branding. Can I see some?
When I first started following cycling in the late 80s, more and more pro bikes were receiving large block font branding on the front-facing of forks and seatstays to better get in that advertising. I know it crossed over into mtbs of the early 90s as well, but it seemed to be a short run fad. This Lemond (not mine) has them on front and back, but I remember some that looked much more amateurish in execution.

Of the various bike fads, that was a rather short one!
I mostly recall it from race photos. A rider for Mike Fatka's Skunk River Cyclists had "Raleigh" on the fork blades of his Raleigh Team bike when I was at the 1982 Iron Horse Classic in Durango, CO....
this was long before digital cameras, so that lack of focus and grain is like the friction shifting of photography.
plus.. this is a small section of the whole photo.....
I've got an '82 Olmo with the name plastered all over the place, even on the back of the seat tube. It doesn't make for a good picture for Velonews, but it does let people know what bike they are drafting...

Old pic, not great, but does the job. It's hard NOT to find "RALEIGH" on every square inch of the tubing on anything out of the USA division from '84-86.

This is the English-built 531c Raleigh exported for sale in the U.S.A. It whistles in a cross-wind, same as the American 555s.
