Vintage Trek sizing?

Do early Treks like this Antelope come in S, M, L, etc? Any way to tell without seeing the sticker or measuring what size this is? It's been on my local Marketplace for a couple weeks for $100 negotiable. I asked the seller to measure the seat tube for me and they said they would but never got back to me.

I'm tempted to just throw out a $50 offer and not worry about what size it is.

i had the opportunity for 20" at one time, but the dude completely flaked and dropped all communications for no apparent reason. at any rate, that one is definitely not any bigger than 18". so, i'm gonna say it's 18". i have a couple of 17's and they just look smaller than that

Yeah, that's definitely small. I've had a 830 Antelope that was bigger than that, look for space at the headtube where the toptube and downtube meet. The Antelopes and Singletracks are plentiful and bombproof. I'd keep looking.

Have had a Trek 830 Antelope just like the OP's pics (1991) forever. Never rode it much, mostly been hanging in the garage and is near mint. There's a size label (20") on the seat tube (close to the BB). Stand over height is 31". The 830 the OP posted is definitely smaller, evidenced by the lack of a gap at the head tube conjunction. Can't post pictures because I lack the necessary post count. If you need any other measurements, I'll try and provide.

The bike is really to small for me and uncomfortable to ride. Been looking to upgrade but finding something in 23" (XL) is proving difficult. Have seen a couple 930/950 MT's on the online selling venues, but always too small. The plan is to sell this one if and when I find something appropriate. Becoming reacquainted with the language of bicycles has been very confusing. But I'm learning.

Additional information: Frames size available were 14.5, 16.5, 18, 20, 22, 24 per the Vintage-Trek (.com) site. (Can't post the link due to post count)

Thanks for this tip. Since I'm only 5'7" with a 30 inch inseam small is my preference. I might could do medium but large is right out.

Here's a pic from another ad I saved locally. I see what you mean by the gap. It's also listed for $100. I saved it because I like the orange but clearly this one is too big for me. It's in Vestavia Hills, AL if anyone is interested let me know and I'll share the marketplace link.

if it’s local just go and see it, and throw your leg over. Your seller is a bit clueless, but the available Trek info does not help that much, with a slanted frame.
