New 54 y/o Forum member
Greetings, new to the forum. 5/4 y/o Retired Army. I got back biking last summer with a group of my neighbors all retired military in our late 40's and 50's. We ride 4 days a week and average 50-60 miles a week. I was riding a 18 y'o Trek 4300 alpha mountain bike, I picked up a new Cannondale CX3 last week. Much smoother ride.

Welcome. I'm envious of those that are retired and can ride more days a week. My wife has determined I will retire in a couple of years and work for her. She doesn't know that I won't be going in to the office until after my ride every morning.

Welcome to the forum. I am also retired and ride 4 times per week, although not as much as I thought I would several years ago.

Welcome! I was an 11B from '86-'10. When I retired I was a manager of a Cycle Gear motorcycle shop back home in DFW. In '14 I moved about 30 minutes south of Bragg where my daughter lives and haven't worked one day since. Life is good.

I am working full time by choice, which beats the hell out of working because you have to, but my current work-from home accommodates four-day-per-week cycling for transportation as well as for recreation. Since you and your cycling buddies are retired military (thank you for your service), you'll appreciate my red-white-and-blue Schwinn. I am hoping they restart the 4th of July parade in my elder son's neighborhood after a COVID hiatus.
One of the last made-in-America Schwinns -- my 1988 Project KOM-10, purchased from a San Diego firefighter.

Welcome, sounds like a great way to spend the days. I envy those in the military who get that early retirement plan. I'm 53 and can only ride after work or weekends and that won't change for the near foreseeable future.
