What component group do I have here?
Hi Everyone,
I got a bike here that that looks to have an older component group on it. I think the components are late 80s and the frame is most likely 90s. I am going to part the whole thing out but I want to make sure I know what I have here. Can someone fill me in on what component group this is. Also, this frame is a Gilco tube Colnago but I am not sure of the model. If anyone knows about this frame, please let me know. It only says competition on it. I am not sure if its a master or something else. See pics.

What they said. Not a fan of breaking up a nice configuration like this. I understand the value of the individual parts, but would not break up a time capsule like this even though it is more recent. My bias is based on two of my preferable marques, Colnago and Campagnolo, they should go together.
JMHO, but it feels a bit cabalistic. I am a strong believer in individual choice, still it is not my preference to strip for profit in this case. Now if it were a franken assembly........no problem

I also resist parting out fine machines at least w/o attempting to move the package. Just sold a '84 Master to an out of state buyer who was tracking "Colnago" in every state looking the right one on "All of Craigslist" and found mine. He was ecstatic and happy to pay packing and shipping.

I too am in the camp of not parting out original bikes but this one is not that. Someone recently put this combo together and its not even completed. If it were all period correct and been ridden that way for a long time then I keep them together. Does anyone know what model this Colnago is? It only says competition on it. It is Gilco tubing.

The bike in the link SJX426 provided has the socketed seatstay arrangement which came mid 90s. Your bike has the club/bullet style and the rear dropout with integrated cable stop plus Art Decor paint so early 90's Master Olympic or Master Light. That's how I read it but somebody will probably be along shortly who knows more. Beautful bike, one of my favorites.

I noticed that the word "Competition" was in the same location as yours. There are very many Olympics, every one I have seen had it on the TT. I am not sure there is much difference between the labels except the labels. My Colnago Superissimo is the same frame as the Super, just with chrome head lugs.
