Don't you just love when noobs/pedestrians say to ride on the other side of the road.

Glad you got it right, instead of "Beep! Beep!"
I saw Chuck Jones (creator of the Roadrunner, Coyote and Pepe Le Pew, etc.) draw and speak back in '95. He told some great stories. The inspiration for the roadrunner sound was a little man who worked in the animation studio. He would rush around the office holding tall stacks of paper in front of him. Because he was short, he could not see over the stacks and would alert others to his presence by going "Beep! Beep!"
Daffy Duck's voice was a mockery of producer Leon Schlesinger. According to Jones, he was often a jerk to the animators. Schlesinger spoke with a lisp. The animators went to Mel Blanc and asked him if he could do Schlesinger as a screwball duck. When they were ready to screen the first cartoon Schlesinger walked into the rom, sat down and said to them, as he often did, to "Roll the junk." The crew all expected be fired. When it was over, Schlesinger said something like "I love that voice! Where did you get the idea for it?" He apparently never knew it was mocking him.

Still, some people here bought it. There had been a relatively recent case (caught on video) of a motorcyclists being chased by a wolf. My guess was that the cyclist had seen the video and made up his own story to attract potential donors to his website.

This is a thing I’ve said before; the “Rules of the Road” (laws or customs) are there so that everyone behaves in a similar way, so that your actions/potential actions will be predictable to other road users around you.
Behaving in a contrarian manner, to call attention to yourself and therefore “make you safer” is a false concept, because now everyone has to stop paying attention to everything else around them and focus on you, so they can figure out what you’re doing or what you’re going to do.

don't like splinters from fiberglass tent poles ... ouch!
funny story, Daughter's boyfriend visits us, they borrow an old tent from my 20s. they set it up to air it out, & go get something to eat. I realize it's going to rain so I wrap it back up for them, before it gets wet. it has only 2 flexible fiberglass poles that expand. I wrap up only 1 pole & leave the other in the grass (by accident). they go camping. Daughter texts me "hey where's the other pole". I go out & find it in the grass. boyfriend improvises w/ some sticks. they have a nice night. he's pretty cool in my book. what was this thread about?

Now this is correct ! But , he who rides against traffic takes that consideration and when that situation arises he has to do a Double Take and Make sure it's safe to Proceed , if not , He will be Dead Wrong ....

Sometimes bike lane designers go against human nature or common sense. I ride against traffic at times in a bike lane or sidewalk because the curb has misplaced ADA ramps. I am not doing any harm. People are just mad at the world. People that design streets are not pedestrians/bicycle riders who have to deal with the issues that other users have to face. Read Copenhagenize and see the irony of street design which is centered around the automobile, where as bicycles, horses and pedestrians predate the automobile. Streets need to be user friendly for all users not just cars.
