Has anyone tried both of these? I had high hopes for the Velocio and thought the chamois was reasonably comfortable...until I tried the Pearl Izumi. The grippers on the Velocio also cut into my thighs a bit. I am still trying to find my favorite bib shorts, so open to other thoughts and suggestions.

Voler Black Label. Chamois is good(its different for everyone, so who knows), the leg gripers are large bands instead of silicone strips, the straps are on the outer chest instead of middle chest, and they have a lot of compression overall.


Im convinced that just like a lot of these purchases, if possible, its best to set aside a chunk of money then buy a half dozen of something from different brands to try all at once, and return what doesnt work. You can direct compare each option.

Rapha, Pearl Izumi, Sugoi; these Giordana bib shorts are better. To coin a phrase “ junk control “ is excellent. The style of the front also makes them less noticeable without too much fabric.

+1 on the Voler Black Label bibs. I’ve tried a few makes and models including Pearl Izumi PRO. The Volers were a bit tight for my taste initially but after the first mile or two, they’ve become my favorite by far. The chamois is great. And they are made about 120 miles up the coast from me in California Central Coast.

Giordana always seem to get very positive reviews, but never tried them.
My current favourite bibs are Rapha Core Cargo. I bought them mainly because of the additional pockets, which I have found very useful on non-stop 100 mile sportives. But I find the pad very comfortable too, I like the shoulder strap design and the quality/durability is high. Price not too bad either being in their "Core" budget range.

I'm also a Voler fan and have also used their team Voler Velocity bib. They are an easy company to work with.

I have the PI Pro bibs and they are excellent.

Great chamois, great feel, fit, grippers, etc. I've wear them on all my rides (except when its cool enough to wear tights) from shorter 25 mile rides to 80 miles plus and they've been super comfortable for everything. I've had three pairs for about almost a year now and they have been durable and look brand new still.

For the moment, these are my go-to bib shorts and I definitely recommend them.

I like the PI PRO bibs. Hincapie signature bibs seem to work well for me (their lower tier not so much). I have a pair of Jakroo bibs - team kit - that I didn't think I would like because the chamois is so soft, but I haven't had a problem with them in rides less than 2 hours. Don't really notice them at all, which is a good thing.

Since no one has responded about Velocio... I have a pair of Luxe bibs and they're the best I've ever owned (including PI Pro).

Bib shorts: Pearl Izumi PRO vs. Velocio Signature ?

My take? Fit rules. I ride Segoi because they are one of the few shorts I've tried that have junk control that works for me. Chamois is good, the rest of the fit works well for me. Every time I get non-Segoi shorts (I'm old school and always ride with suspenders; like the mentor where I raced who was 2nd in the nation to John Howard a long time ago) I find good rides are hit or miss. With Segoi that simply isn't an issue. No way I'd ever get that info without trying them on.

I have wanted to try some T6 bibs, but just haven't gotten over the hump.

I love their t-shirts- great material and shape and I have a few.
Their jerseys are just unique designs made by Voler. The T6 jerseys are a mix between Voler's entry and mid priced jerseys, but the T6 jersey is priced the same as Voler's mid priced jersey.
So less for more, basically.

I havent seen who makes T6 bibs. Is that also Voler?

I have the T6 bib tights that are thermal. The quality is excellent! I purchased a jersey recently, while the quality is on par, it is more fitted than other jersey's that I have. My pot belly stands out:-)
