Anyone have issues with Muc Off wet lube?
I have a new bottle of the stuff and it's getting sticky and gooey, like honey. This is on my road bike and I'm pretty low miles so far so only done 2 cleanings to date. My typical maintenance is put the chain and cassette in the ultrasonic cleaner (citrus based degreaser), then a soak in isopropyl to displace the moisture, a blow off with the compressor, then back on the bike and re-lube.
I've noticed even after one ride the chain is sticky and not sure if the lube is at fault. Logic would dictate to try a different lube, and I likely will, but I'm curious if anyone has experienced the same.

I don't use Muc-Off, but if it's too thick to work its way inside the chain rollers, what's the point?

It seems thin and wicks itself well into the rollers when applied. I wonder if I'm not flushing out the degreaser well enough and it's reacting with the lube in some way.... any chemists in the house? Lol

Only thing I can think of is do you rinse off the citrus cleaner really well with plain water? Could be trapped in the rollers and reacting with the lube.

Maybe try mixing the muc off with your cleaner(s) in a container and see what how it does. Should provide an answer as to what it might not mix well with, if it is a reaction with a cleaner.

I know nothing about Muc Off other than a son-in-law loves it with his MTBs, but they should have a tech who should respond.to your question.

Probably soy or castor bean oil based.
If so, I would completely expect it to get gummy and foul up.
People that are happy with it in the long run probably clean and lube their chains more often.

I used an ultrasonic cleaner and home brew for my chains. The lube is a mix of 1 part chain bar oil to 4 parts unscented mineral spirits. It does well in the rain. I ride 800 miles and repeat.
