Used to work for a very successful owner of multiple bike stores who often drove a Mercedes to the shop. I told him he should have a "My Other Car Is Porsche" (which it was) sticker on the Mercedes' bumper. He didn't find the suggestion funny, for some reason. (Also didn't go for another, which was that his Porsche should have a bumper sticker, too: "I May Be Slow But I'm Ahead Of You.")

Funny! This thread. I stood naked in front of the mirror yesterday and looked at myself. My abdomen! After last winter's hernia surgery it is a bumpy, scarred mess. The right tattoo there might do wonders!

The attitude about tattoos has evolved. It used to be that if you met a guy with a neck tattoo, it likely meant that he was recently out of prison, and you might be murdered. Now, if you meet a guy with a neck tattoo, he probably wants to read you the poem he wrote about his vegan bicycle.

I got a tattoo in 1987 when I went into the military. Back then they were cool, not many people had one. And you never saw girls with them. They became mainstream in the 90's and today everyone has them. Now I don't want mine. When anything turns mainstream it stops being cool to me. Thankfully you can't see mine when I'm wearing a shirt.
But even back then most people didn't cover their bodies with them. It's out of control today. The worst is when I see a pretty girl or even a model or someone with a huge tiger covering their entire leg or something. I mean come on man.

I don't have any tattoos, but I like them. If i get one, it will be a design that ties together a bunch of my hobbies, bikes included. But i haven't decided where to put it.

Tattoos are so establishment. Everyone has at least one. Nothing says anti-establishment and counter-culture than clear skin with no tattoos, no piercings and natural hair color.
Want to be a renegade, a radical or counter-culture? 86 the tattoo idea and save that money for something that you can actually use.

Ok, so tattoos are part of the establishment, you support being anti-establishment and counter-culture by not having tattoos, piercings, or dyed hair, and you do what you want regardless of what people think because you lead by example and dont need acceptance.

Location is currently undecided, but somewhere that I can get it to a large enough size to support realistic chain links, possibly actual 1:1 size links (KMC or Shimano not decided yet either, but definitely 11spd since that's what got me to where I am now). I was also toying with the idea of life sized lungs on my chest right where my actual lungs stereotypically are (with caution to not have the links go over the nipples, since that sounds like an un-fun place to be stabbed 1000's of times), but only toying so far, since I'd have to live with that decision (no pun intended).
