Stitching leather on handlebars.

I hope I like it. It’s taking me a while to get it nice and tight. I have a few under over vs over under, but I’m ok with it.

It'll look nice, but I'll never see your handiwork. I guess that's partly the point. <grin>

Pista type stem I hope.

It is indeed a pista style stem.

I finished one side last night.

$7 bucks in leather from the Oregon Leather Co, so if I don’t like it, I’m just out my time.

Nice! I done leather wrap on a few. I did mine different. I kept the seam facing forward and in.

This was my first try, I went with 1/8" stitching 1/4" in. What mistake, that took forever, my hands were so beaten after that. I've done a few more since. Now I'll go with 1/4" stitching 1/4" in.

This one looks good but it slips on the bar, I should have used some adhesive at the start.

That's my warning gong, I need a better mount.

Here's the one I put on a Nishiki

I was getting pretty good at it by this time.

I recommend the gong be put on an Asian made frame? Definitely not original equipment on an Austrian bike, @Mr. 66.

looks good.

I think I needed to do 1/4” vs 1/8”. It took quite a while. Plus I think I may redo it in the future with the seams at a different location.
