Keira Knightley

Someone should warn her about riding in Flip-Flops.
I saw a woman riding in them and her foot slipped off the pedal and into the front wheel. After she did an end-over, we had to remove the wheel to get her foot out. It wasn't pretty.

Decades ago I was riding behind a kid who was riding in them. One of his heels turned inward and wandered into the spokes of the rear wheel and he was rewarded with a quarter-sized flap of loose skin and lots of blood outside its normal vessel.

In one of those rumored rare instances of acquiring wisdom, I actually learned by the mistake of someone other than myself.

Ignaz Schwinn with customer 'Baby' Bliss, 1893 (Mr. Bliss is on the left.)

Mr. Bliss was billed as 'the heaviest man in America', but 500+/- pounds wouldn't even get you on reality TV today.

Baby's new bike looks like it could have been made yesterday, I'd ride it.

And also encumbered with shopping bags, many public streets could get you a ticket for riding like this although It likely never happens.

Also amazing how much damage can/will happen to your feet if you come off the bike like this, especially at speed.

Yea, and you can ask my wife what happens when a bag dangling from the handlebars becomes entangled in the front wheel while zipping down hill! She only did THAT trick once . Three days in the hospital .....but the bike was Oh Kay!
