Just by you saying this makes me doubt the veracity of your statements.

Honestly, I don't care what stand you get, or what you think of the worth. There are folks on this site who are perfectly happy working on their bikes upside down on the floor. But then, there are those folks who know and appreciate quality products, and understand why they cost more. Does Park rely on their reputation when pricing things? Yep--a very well-deserved reputation.

I have a bike pump that cost more than your Bikehand stand. Is it for everybody? Nope--only those who appreciate quality, and how it benefits me as a cyclist.

Come talk to us in 10 years. Come talk to us in 30 years. I purchased my home stand in the mid90s. I use it constantly. I did replace the spring clamp because I wanted to but it didn’t need to be replaced. I don’t recall how much I spent on my PRS-6 in the 90s but it was not cheap. Probably the equivalent to the price today.

The other stand I purchased second hand but it was well used when I bought it about 15 years ago and was made from 1996 to 2001. It’s 20 years old and still in great shape.

Both were well worth the investment…as would one of the Park Tool stands today.

No I don't recognize that the Park is superior. Just pointing out that some here do think that it is.

Having used both, I couldn't justify the price difference.

Some here have never heard of R&D and how it's not free. Some couldn't care less about the manufacturer that invest in the R&D going out of business unbeknownst that when that happens there will not be anything for the I.P. theives to rip-off. Leaving everyone with zero options.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money, the best one on the market with 5 star reviews from over 9,500 reviewers and not one even 4 1/2 star rating on Amazon is the BikeHand bike repair stand. It works with road bikes and mountain bikes, it can hold up to 55 pound bikes, and the cost is only $119! This stand got higher reviews than the Park Pro stand did!!

Cheese to chalk comparison. There are other advantages to any of the Park stands over their cheaper copies. I can get parts for a stand (or 2 stands of different models) from the mid90s…i.e. a 25+ year old stand. I’ve replaced the clamp (because I wanted to). I replaced the pads because they wear out. Can the same be said of cheap copies? Could you even get repair parts today?

Buying tools twice is rather expensive.

If there were only a couple of dozen reviews gushing over a product then those could indeed be faked, but not over 9,000!

So you can replace parts on a $450 stand, you can buy 4 of those other stands for the price of one Park stand, and how much are the replacement parts? probably expensive because it comes from Park, I bet that cheap stand will last at least 15 years. So you would have to replace that cheap stand more than once to pay for the Park, probably 5 times if you count replacement parts being purchased.

I think that cheap stand is just fine for a first time stand and they have a restricted budget to work with.

I'm not saying, nor ever said, this is the best bike stand in the world, but for the price, and based on all the reviews, it's a good deal at a bargain price, perfect for the beginner that needs an inexpensive stand, it isn't for the professional mechanic.

I have a Bike Hand and am super happy with it. Light enough I throw it in the car on multi day trips. I'm sure the Park Tool stands are a better quality tool. Never had a PT stand but I do have a few of there tools. I expect their stand is Snap On tool quality. First rate for the pro. Bike Hand is Craftsman tool in quality. Good quality for most home mechanics. The NH works well on both of my odd shapes carbon frames.

I find it pretty funny that we can spend thousands of dollars on a bike--sometimes well over ten thousand dollars! And yet when it comes to the tools to maintain these bikes, we cheap out.

Let's assume the Bike Hand stand wears out and parts aren't available... At $120, I could buy three of of them over the course of 25+ years and it would still cost me less than one Park Tool Stand.

We cheap out on tools so we can afford more bikes, upgrade bike components and buy more expensive bikes.

Buying a bike hand stand leaves me left over money to put toward carbon wheels and higher end drive train components.

And to be honest...You don't need super expensive Park Tools to work on a bike. I have had this stand since 2016...It's even cheaper than the Bikehand and I've used it multiple times to work on my fat bike, road bike and mountain bike.

And all of my allen wrenches and torx wrenches are off brand tools that I purchased at ACE hardware, spoke wrenches, valve core removers and other such little tools are off brand tools I purchased on Amazon. Neither my stand nor any of my tools has ever broken. The only name branded tools I own are a Bontrager and Ritchey torque key.

As far as Park Tool...I own some of their glueless patches, tire boots and one mini-tool kit that I put in my seat pack.

At the end of the day...by making these smart purchases, the bottom lines is that I have more disposable income left in my pocket.

I have three stands, the latest two are only for shaped tubes which my antique Park 101L clamp and 102L arm don't do. My bikes are vintage so the TT crushing is not a worry and this stand is easily the best investment I ever made in cycling. I think I bought it in the 70's for my UO-8 and with the replacement jaw covers it still functions like it did new, fast and rigid.
