What are some good headphones that don’t fall out, are comfortable and ideally still allow you to hear some of the traffic. Just had an incident where my AirPod fell out on the ride...and shockingly I was able to find it by retracing my steps after the ride.

I see on TV in past grand tours (watching TdF) they put tape over their team radio earbud to not fall out.
But not a wide strip covering the whole ear canal.. & just one , not stereo..

Bone conduction is probably the best for cycling because it lets you hear noises around you, but the sound quality is poor, so it your picky about your sound you won't like them. If that's the route you want to take then consider the AfterShokz Titanium model, they do get high reviews, but again the sound quality is not what you might like it to be. If you need to listen to music while riding, the bone conduction system is the only one to consider due to the safety of still being able to hear without any limitations.

I use Bose quiet comfort in-ear buds noise canceling head phones ( and a good rear view mirror).

My current setup is my favorite so far. I'm using KZ ZS10 Pros, connected to an EarStudio ES100 Mk.2. I'm using the 2.5mm balanced jack, which makes a fairly significant impact on audio quality. I don't use it myself, but the ES100 has a built-in microphone, with an ambient mixer. You can control how much outside sound comes through the earbuds themselves-- I tried it out, and it is a strange sensation, because you can hear cars but there's almost no wind noise. Though IME, hearing the car makes no difference whatsoever, so I leave that function switched off. (I do have Varia radar, if that makes any difference.)

I probably get in the neighborhood of 7 hours out of a charge on the ES100, which is plenty. No single ride I do will last that long, and I only end up charging twice a week.

I tried Aftershokz for exactly one hour. I absolutely hated them. So much so that I made a point to drive directly back to the Best Buy and return them, less than 4 hours after I'd purchased them.

Jabra 75T. I had the 65T's and they sound good, but didn't stay put as well, and were bulky for my ears.

The 75T is just better in every regard, and they will never fall out.

I have ran a 10K with them, didn't have to adjust them once.

40-50 mile bike rides, no problem.

IMO they sound better than Airpod Pro as well.

I got mine for $100 (refurb) from NewEgg. I think retail is around $180.

My wife got me a set of Otium wireless earbuds a few years back and they've served me very well. You can search the brand in Amazon and they'll likely be the first result. Inexpensive, good sound. They're connected to each other so you'll never lose one side.

Worth noting- when I ride I only keep the right ear bud in. That allows me to still here traffic on my left side, and allows me to use the mic on the right side in case I'm ever on the phone. The left bud gets tucked into my jersey. Your needs may vary but for me just hearing enough of the music works just fine. It gives me enough to keep me entertained while also allowing me to safely enjoy the ride.

For in ear headphones, Etymotic is the best. I still have my ER-6s. Came out when the original ipod was the thing.

I had the exact same reaction to the aftershokz, glad I had purchased them at Best Buy so I could return them right away. I ended up with the Bose Soundsport Pulse, the quality is decent and you are made so you can still hear some of the ambient noises as long as you don't have them cranked up all of the way. Unfortunately the current firmware with them makes pairing the built in HRM function with my Garmin devices not possible but I am hoping they'll eventually update it to get it working again (I guess it worked in previous firmwares in the past).

Bone conduction are the way to go. I like them since I can hear the traffic and everything around me.

Aftershokz Titanium for entry level or Aeropex. Both work fine with sunglasses and helmets. I've used them for years. Outstanding products.
