20" SRAM Automatix for a Dahon?
Hi all!
I'm looking to upgrade one of the Dahon Unos into a stealth speedster, and am on the hunt for a either a 20" wheel with a SRAM Automatix hub or a 28h Automatix hub to build a wheel with. Anyone have one of those to part with, and / or tales of their quality?

You'll most likely need to adjust the switching point, because it's not set great right away. Often I wanted to be in the lower gear but the hub would switch to the higher one.
My Tern Swoop Duo came with one and I really liked it for a short commute, but it started to have issues that my local bike shop didn't know how to or wasn't willing to try to fix. It's about 5 years old and at this point the cranks sometimes take 1-2 full revolutions before the gears engage.
But it's also a very clean look especially if you get one of the hubs with a coaster brake built in. I liked it, and if I knew how to fix it I'd still use that bike occasionally.

I had it on my Uno, it was terrible. I opted to get a custom built Shimano Nexus 3 speed IGH coaster brake rear wheel instead. So much better,...and so reliable.

The SRAM Automatix was discontinued by the manufacturer in 2017. Parts and spares are very limited. Other 2-speed hub choices in current production:
Both are 'kick back' shifting.
- Sturmey Archer S2 freewheel or coaster brake
- Eagle (Bendix reproduction) coaster brake only
Both are 'kick back' shifting.

Thanks for all the info. I ended up finding a great deal on a Mu SL (tremendous bike), so no need for the automatix right now. Still curious about the idea though.
Seems that the 28h version was made with smaller wheels in mind, and had a different shift point. A seller on ebay has them without the brake right now - I can't post a link as a new user.
