Bright yellow Proviz full finger padded gloves, year-round. Older version of these: https://www.provizsports.com/en-us/c...es-yellow.html

I like these from Rivendell. $23 a pair. I, too, take a certain perverse pleasure in the speckled tan marks and big oval tan mark on the back of my hands.

When I first got into this sport c.1973, Luis Ocana had just won the TdF wearing the gloves pictured here. I thought they were the coolest thing ever and got a pair. They lasted a few years before my toxic waste-grade sweat pretty much dissolved them. But they did look cool, especially when I bought a red and white Bob Jackson. If I found another pair, I'd probably get them. I'll pass on the early 1970s sideburns, however.

I had a patient see my speckled hands and say "you must golf a lot!" Err, no, but that's ok.

Awesome gloves. Best feeling and best looking I've ever had. Just ordered a backup pair (tan/white 1037).

I'm glad this thread is resurrected Now nearing the end of their fourth season, my gloves will not see 5. I need a new pair. . I'd like something that lasts. Don't give 2 craps about C&V appropriate, I care about longevity. And not fugly. Any recommendations?

Kucharik makes a classic style glove for not large money. I'm liking them.

I'd be happy if someone made faux-leather gloves using the same material used by Bontrager, Giro, Adidas and others as reinforcing on the palms of my minimalist gloves, and the synthetic mesh uppers used by Adidas and Under Armour on my summer running shoes.

That would look like the real deal, but should last longer. While I liked the looks of my old real leather and cotton mesh cycling gloves, they rarely lasted more than a year before falling apart.

The faux-leatherette used on contemporary cycling gloves, and the synthetic mesh uppers used by Adidas for their Prime shoes, Under Armour and others, are really tough, durable and comfortable. My Bontrager RXL Thermal gloves with leatherette palms have lasted five years and withstood slides on concrete and gravel with barely a scuff. And my favorite pair of Under Armour Hovr Sonic running shoes with mesh uppers just ticked over 200 miles of jogging this year and still look great. Ditto my backup UA shoes and Adidas Primeknit with just under 100 miles each. It looks and feels like cotton mesh but wears like elephant hide.

Sizing inconsistencies can be frustrating. I currently use a pair of Bell gloves I bought from Target years ago. Size L/XL. They fit fine, but are worn. The last two pairs I tried on, one in store and the other a gift, were way too small. Both were larges. The thing is, my hands aren't really all that big.

How do you like these so far? Do they run true to size?
Thanks.

Yes, true to size. I wear a medium. They still look fantastic. The padding is not very thick, which is fine.

Here"s the last pair I bought just because they look great to me and were on sale but don't really have enough padding for my tired, crabby old body.

Like I said, look great to me.

These are my new go-to gloves.

Was using Big S Body Geometry gloves with good padding, tried these and they are better for me.
