Why didn't Zwift do a Belgian Virtual Ride?

Why didn't Zwift do a Belgian Virtual Ride?
I guess this is a bit late to ask but wondering why Zwift completely ignored a Belgian ride to celebrate the 2021 UCI World Championships as they did in previous years?

Sorry, bad choice of words on my part. They replicate a route based on the location where the world championships take place, like Yorkshire England 2019, Innsbruck 2018, Richmond 2015. Not an official tradition but come to be expected I guess.

Yeah, would have been nice. I am not a big fan of Yorkshire and Innsbruck, and Richmond is getting old

Innsbruck I think is a great addition to Zwift - that and Watopia Epic / Epic Reverse are the only climbs of that length (Shorter than Alpe & Ven-Top, longer than the London climbs / Volcano).
I typically don't race great on that route though. I LOVE Yorkshire, have had some of my favorite races there, and yea - Richmond is used a lot, because it's a really good race course.
The UCI courses are good courses. I think the replica course is a great start - but they could definitely build out around those courses like they did for London. I don't think they're going to add more different 'worlds' for a while though, is my feel.

I used to ride in Richmond back in the '70s and '80s. There were nice areas around Richmond back then, zwift could erase some of the sprawl and add some nice courses. But all the hills nearby are because of the river for the most part.

I agree Underhausen, not a big fan of riding the Richmond route and Yorkshire was fun for a while but got old. The route I hate the most is NYC. Was great for about the first 6 times but got bored of it after that.

I do like France a lot. Paris is okay, but once you have done it forwards and backwards it's pretty boring.

I think that, because they're focused on building out the Makuzi Islands, they're skipping the UCI courses this year. I've heard there's a lot more courses in the islands to come.

Ed Wiser, very cool and there's something special about riding on the trainer while watching a major event. A few years back I rode Zwift on the Innsbruck map while watching the men's elite race at the same location during the UCI championships.
What were you watching it on? I was able to watch that UCI championship race streaming live on Youtube but that doesn't happen any more.

Peacock streamed it live. They have the replay up now. Might be included with your cable subscription, it's worth checking.

I'm in Canada so we don't get Peacock Sports. Our only option is a subscription based service, Flo Bikes or GCN +, both of which I've heard are not great choices.

I watched Paris Roubaix while riding indoors as well, but had to settle for Zwift's France world. No Rouvy for me.
Just as well, I was barely paying attention to my virtual ride as the end of that race was pretty riveting.

GCN+ (if it's not geolocked for you) got off to a rough start, but everyone seems happy with it now. The only issue for U.S. viewers is you have to use a vpn to see a lot of races.

GCN+ is geolocked, Flo Cycling has exclusive rights to virtually all cycling for Canada, as far as I know.
