When I ride a bike should I have fun?
So I've been riding bikes and I'm not sure if I should be having fun while I do it, what do you guys do? Do you allow yourselves to have fun while you ride bikes? All the other roadies look so serious I'm worried that I'm having too much fun. I was thinking possibly I could reduce some of the fun by staying home every other day instead of riding and check my stem/front wheel for perfect alignment or maybe make sure my tire logos match up with my tube stem. I'm just extremely concerned with what everyone thinks of me.

No, you are not supposed to have fun. However, if you are having fun, try your best not to show it. It is important to appear grim and, at the very least, annoyed.

Do people who lack masochistic tendencies enjoy riding bicycles? How would that even work, exactly?

Good question. Often during the last few miles of a ride I wonder why on earth I ever got on the bike in the first place. Of course, that doesn't stop me from doing it all over again the next day.

It's funny I needed two new kits for this season to just train in so I was going to get two Hammer Nutrition kits but decided to just pick up a kit from a local shop made by capo and spend the extra $80 versus the Bergamo shorts Hammer Kit. All the Capo kits from the shop had holes developing where the chamois is sewn in. So now I have a Capo kit that probably won't get as much life out of the shorts, yet my Voler kits never give me ANY problems. I'm starting to think that Voler might be extremely underrated. All my Louie Garneu stuff has been total junk and I've had quite a few problems with Capo's quality control.

Hang on, shouldn't that be in the Hammer kit thread?
To the point in hand, yes you should have fun, but you should not under any circumstances admit it.

maybe i was naïve, but i found myself pulling for the antiheroes in the Godafther (e.g., the baptism scene). the notion of romanticism doesn't happen at all in this film. the above scene shows the two gangster-wannabe kids, who basically quote Scarface all the time, steals a cache of weapons from the local chieftain and fires them.
the entire movie is so bleak that you get the sense that it took place in a third-world country, which is what southern Italy is like. The industrial North, however, is totally different, and to make this cycling related, the North is also where Campy and Bianchi are from.

No fun at all, you should just be thinking this while you're riding your bike.

WHY would you ride if you're not having fun?
(Unless this is your form of BSDM or someother self punishment.) Problem with that is, it's still fun.
