@hazetguy, we have a fair amount of those black snakes in upstate New York. I like 'em. When the house was under renovation, they came through, inside the house! They left us three skins over the years. Since the house is sealed, we haven't seen any more inside. I don't want our guests freaking out with snakes around their ankles, but I sure don't like mice.

Yep, in NW Pennsylvania, blacksnakes are a farmer's friends. 👍 At Granma's, they put us babies out in the weeds, close to the grape arbor, and we played with blacksnakes. I guess there were plenty of grapes for everyone. 😁

These little carefully balanced stacks of rocks are very common in my area. Mostly along trails and on the shore. Do people do this everywhere?
