Nicely specced Motobecane Grand Jubile, but I could help chuckling at the rather redundant shift cable routing.

Suntour Cyclone version versus Shimano 600 Arabesque. Wrong year but they may be a newbie. I would prefer the Suntour but I'm biased.

Hmmm...something wrong here.

Gitane Super Course 500 Cash

From the ad, "rear spread to 30 cm (standard road bike size)"
30CM?!

All sorts of wrong with that ad - beginning with the overly-optimistic price (or is inflation really that bad right now?).

Assuming he meant 130mm to accommodate newer gearing, that still doesn't explain cutting the stay bridge in half. Or maybe the brazing failed when it was spread - even so you'd think the seller would've gotten rid of the evidence instead of leaving the remaining lopsided bit (which of course is now doing nothing but adding a couple useless grams).

But again: 500 bux?!

@Drillium Dude, weird about that bridge, huh? I was thinking, if it popped when the rear was spread, why cut more off? It's definitely been shortened. It's nice that they included the damage in the pics, but I agree that the ask is just totally outrageous.

lol I didn't even realize that's what that was! I saw that and thought 'what is that, a fender attachment point?'

A classic " I know what I have here so don't try to lowball me" ads. But wait, is that iron oxide on the "bare aluminum" stay and fork tips on that "aluminum" frame??

Based only on this photo, I think the seller needs to have a sit-down with his therapist, pronto:

This was Cannondale's "Proctology Special" model. It wasn't popular.

Ad title: Schwann bicycle “Miranda”

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...8427567905829/

Yet another case of someone who cannot read the clearly visible decals....

The sales pitch is a good one, though: "Great bicycle......but haven’t used. Needs new tires. Free air pump with bike. Be ready for spring and high gas prices!"

I was going to post this in the regular thread because the price ain't bad until I noticed that the bike was originally red and they just masked over the decals. My guess is that they painted it because it was sun-faded and couldn't be seen riding a pink bike.

The “serious buyers” thing always makes me laugh. I feel like I should show up with clown shoes and a red nose - “I’m here to buy the bike!” 🙄

Wish I'd bought the tiny-wheel clown bike my friend was selling a couple years ago....

BTW, follow the "More ads from this user" link for a Pandora's box of equally Shakespearean ad text.
