"upgrade to a Cervelo Soloist Carbon!"
I was thinking the exact same thing. The good part would be that this Trek would sell for alot on Ebay to help pay for it (Ebayers love bikes like this).

What are you looking for performance or bling. I'd work on getting more aero in your riding position, easier to go faster when your not blocking as much wind. For bling i'd go with white bar tape.

Unless you have some specific complaint, upgrading your bike to 10 speed is going to be a very expensive proposition to pick up one cog. If you do it, send me the shifters and cassette. Nothing wrong with 9 speed.

That bike was good enough for Lance, it's good enough for you. Do what he did and replace the saddle. Then get the matching U.S. Nat'l. Champ. jersey and you're good to go.

The saddle needs to go, that wouldn't even constitute "upgrade"

Man you guys are freakin harsh, the OP asked a question and a lot of you start bashing his bike, nice.
While that paint scheme is not for me, that is a quality bike. For some reason there are a lot of trek haters out there.
Like others have said, get a new saddle and add a 2nd cage. A bike fit may be helpful too. And don't let the negative comments bother you. Enjoy your ride.

That said, if the goal of upgrading is to be faster I'd pay for a professional fitting.

OK sorry, I guess I should have said most of you are harsh.
I agree with you, a good fitting may be in order. I just don't get why people are so quick to put down others bikes, especially when it is a decent bike.
