Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Saw a brand new Wabi Classic at the shop the other day. (He was having a set of fenders put on.) What a nice bike! How many on this list have a Wabi? Pictures please.

I have a 2017 Wabi Lightning SE, been riding it for a few years but I have developed a thing for Italian bikes so the Wabi frame is on Ebay as of yesterday.

2017 Wabi Lightning, Special Edition, Single Speed Bicycle Frame, 55 cm | eBay

A great deal IMHO. PM me personally if interested

Mike

Are Wabis really as good as Zach always says?

I've always wondered if they're build quality really hold up to what he says in his videos as he gets paid for saying their bikes are the best

You can take what he says with a grain of salt, however, there are plenty of unbiased people who have posted good reviews of their Wabis. Basically, a Wabi is a very good frameset with above average quality wheels and decent components.

And one of the few possibilities left if you want to try 650c wheels, which when they were more available had some converts.
i read an article a while ago - I think from 'Rodriquez Cycles'claiming that all 700c bikes under size 50 had compromised handling...

I take it based on your wonderful collection you don't entirely prescribe to that view but I am curious what you think of your smaller wheeled Wabi?

My 42cm (c-c) Wabi Lightning with 650c wheels handles very well, because the smaller wheels allow for the same geometry as the larger Wabis with 700c wheels. They also allow for a more aesthetically pleasing horizontal top tube. However, Rodriquez statement is not strictly true, but the price you pay is significant toe overlap with the front wheel.

It is a nice looking bike - I have wanted to try 650c for some time. Thanks for the feedback TT.
