Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Would you put a different groupset on it? Current 105 seems nice enough. Ultegra is great, but I'd be hard-pressed to justify the upgrade cost of swapping out a group.
As far as frames, I'm fine with 28s and wide-ass rims on my R3 and don't think that the regular Cal would offer anything meaningful to me... but I'd still love to get an Aspero frameset to replace the Haanjo.

The lions have been bad a long time, but over the years so many teams have fit that model. The Patriots sucked for decades before Belichek arrived. Cleveland still struggles to maintain respectability.

I’m fine with 28s on the R3 too- it’s mostly that I want to switch to disc. I ride quite a bit of hard packed dirt roads and would prefer disc to rim brake, especially with carbon wheels.

I had season tickets for the Eagles at the Vet for the '95-'98 seasons. In those 4 years we had one home playoff game. Interestingly, it was against the Lions in '95. Beat the snot out of them 58-37. The game wasn't as close as the score suggests. Eagles were up 38-7 at the half. 51-21 at the end of the 3rd. Eagles then put in the scrubs, enabling Detroit to score 16 in the 4th. While we got back to the playoffs in '96 (lost to the Niners away), the '97-'99 seasons featured a total of 14 winds combined.

Oh and WhyFi I’ll be hard pressed to go back from Di2 at this point- I would probably pull most of the groupset off of my R3 and buy the brifters outright for 8070.

Yup. I lived in Astoria, briefly. For someone living in the city, it's a decent area. Not much that would appeal to someone on a layover, though, unless you really want to hit up some ethnic eats.

This map shows Maryland, right where the line up to Cooperstown heads north. Also mentions a C&SV railroad, and I'm guessing JC stands for Junction. It's hard to tell what location that's pointing to.

That line up to Cooperstown looks to be reverting back to nature, along with a GG1 !!!

Well at least they won a Super Bowl relatively recently, and they've been a contender in the east for a good while. Look at the Jets by comparison. They are pathetic and haven't won a damn thing since the days of Joe Namath. Even Herm Edwards gave up on them. There's just a dark cloud that hangs over that team. They're painful to watch, yet we're stuck having to watch them every Sunday.

Oh, my Rapha exchange came in yesterday. I had ordered one of Techinical T-Shirts that are in the Archive sale. I usually wear a Large in Rapha, but the Large Tech T was mountain-biker baggy. The Medium fits like a fitted shirt should and now I'm considering buying a few more while they're still in that ~$35-40 range. They'll be fine for some more leisurely rides (paired with cargo bibs so that I can at least carry a phone), but will probably get the most mileage just as a casual shirt in sweaty weather.

Yet the Eagles managed to make the Jets look decent for a while yesterday.

BTW...Did you see the Eagles backup QB who started for the injured Hurts? He reminds me of Lawrence from "Office Space."

While listening to AK, I was also reading 'Wild: A Journey From Lost to Found'. An autobiography of a solo hike of the PCT by a 26 year old woman. As a result I have more asocial leanings than before. It was a good read.

A scene in the movie was shot in Vancouver, WA. At one of Vancouver's finest bars, the Elbow Room!

I am assuming that scene is supposed to be in NV because of the newspaper box.

Yep, they couldn't find a cool enough bar in Nevada
Looks like the relatively current newspaper boxes are for The Columbian and probably one of those crappy For Rent publications.

I know that stretch of I88/NY 7 very well and never noticed that rail car. Probably put there after my time.
