Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Depends on what numbers the computer is using. It may be showing average moving speed and might not be counting zeros for power (coasting).

Yah, a lot of head units don’t count coasting, but Strava does.

One challenge that you may have is that, although it's very flat in W'burg, there's lots of undulations and it may be tough to stay on top of the pedals when you crest a gentle roll and come down.
That's what I have set up on my computer and all of my 3' power marks were set on the same hill, which has a lot to do with where it is on my one of my routes out of town. I only noticed this after it happened a few times.

In the 30s at my friend's house where we plan to start but the sun is out and it is warming up a bit. No ride yesterday due to rain and wind so I'd like to have a nice one today.

Got a good ride in. Temps dropped to a few degrees below freezing the first hour, but gradually warmed up. Plus, the Saturn passed annual inspection!

My intent to have a good week on the bike has been sabotaged by my family. Oh, well.

That's a long and expensive process that I don't really want to go through again. Besides, I kind of like them....most days.

He'll just have the stew sit on his lap in the cockpit. Isn't that what pilots do?

Fery few Christmas presents to buy. Goal is to buy only from local shops, and local products where possible. Picked up a bottle of Philadelphia-distilled Kinsey whiskey this afternoon.

I want to keep it forever, but current goal is 200K/25 years which is another 18 months or so. Currently at 191K.

Mrs datlas decided to Marie Kondo a bit in the garage and put four of my old (but still useful) cassettes on a small shelf on the pegboard.

Of course the shelf was not secured well and they came crashing down and got all mixed together. They are all 10 speed, but a mix of ranges and also mix of 1 Dura Ace, two Ultegra, and 1 105. The whole thing is now like a bad greasy puzzle. I will try to solve the puzzle eventually, but not today.
