SOLD: 1994 Specialized Hard Rock Rebuild

***SOLD***

If this isn't considered classic/vintage enough, please feel free to move it to regular For Sale forum...

This is an updated classic Specialized Hard Rock MTB/trail bike. This was nearly a complete tear down & rebuild. The only remaining original parts are the headset (serviced & in great condition), seatpost & saddle, and the brake cantilevers. Everything else is new. If you'd like to read my blog post about the build process it's here: https://thesurlybiker.wordpress.com/...-bike-rebuild/
The bike had been in climate controlled storage for almost a decade - frame is in real good shape.

Parts breakdown:

Frame & Fork: Chromoly
Frame Size: 18” (5’5 - 5’9”ish)
Bars: Salsa Rustler, 750mm
Stem: Salsa Guide, 100mm +/-15°
Stem Adapter: Profile Design threaded to threadless
Grips: RaceFace Grippler
Levers: Shimano BL-R550
Shifter: Microshift Advent 9spd trigger
Crank: SunTour XCM
Chainring: RaceFace 1x Narrow/Wide 104 BCD
BB: Shimano UN300 square taper, 113mm spindle
Rear Derailleur: Microshift Advent 1x9 clutch
Cassette: Microshift Advent 9spd 11-42t
Wheels: Weinmann 519, 26x1.5”
Tires: Vittoria Mezcal, 26x2.1”
Chain: SRAM 9 spd
Brake/Shift cables & housing: Jagwire
**PEDALS NOT INCLUDED**

Asking $575 + $175 S&H
(Local shop quoted $90 to box a bike, and estimating $85 to ship via ShipBikes.com)
(Anyone local to Houston area can just come pick it up)

That's the nicest Hard Rock build I've ever seen.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Are you moving to the East Coast so I can save on shipping?

I'll bite on the kudos too. Bang up job integrating in modern components (including a great job on the threadless headset) in a way that doesn't seem jarring at all.

This should go fast!

Thanks for the compliments everyone - it was a fun project bike for me.

This bike is now sold!!

Can’t believe I tried selling it on FB marketplace for the past 5 months I should have just come here first, lol.
