My main objective in exploring new bikes was the poor braking provided by all C-Record era calipers…it’s scary to ride a fast downhill using Delta calipers. So, I bought a couple pairs of 1994 era Record dual pivot side pull calipers. So far swapped out the Delta calipers on my Ciocc Columbus Minimax with the dual pivot side side pulls…wow, what an improvement!

Yes, the Ciocc was built using modern cable housings so didn't have to make a change there...I think those modern cable housings made the Delta calipers feel even smoother, but I still always lacked confidence in the braking power. I'll likely keep the Delta calipers on the Bottecchia Equip since it's a bit of a parade bike, but might swap out the cable housings for modern ones to improve the feel. My eyes will notice that new cable housings will be bright white, and not the pearlescent off white of the C-Record NOS housings. Again, I'm departing from pure "period correct" to get the performance and safety benefit. I'm replacing the original cable housings on the Bottecchia SL with modern even though I have plenty of NOS C-Record cable housings in stock...original cable housing was in there for 30 years and wasn't easy to remove...dinged the frame cutting it out at one point and that got me onto the ding repair side project.

Must be afraid of Long Beach.
Evan is a straight up guy.
btw, received email of a massive "hoarder" collection in Long Beach to sell off Saturday...
maybe. Some good Sam is attempting to intervene from the east coast
just weird

You have enough stuff that I wonder if worthwhile to have your own website (isn't that what Go Daddy does? Get a teenager to help set it up?) snd sell it without having a middleman take a cut? I presume the interesting part is ensuring you show up in search results.

Went to visit the Bicycle Stand in Long Beach on Thursday, was closed…took my bike down and rode Long Beach to Newport Beach and back. Should have checked the website (still haven’t), I may go down again someday…saw some classic bikes through the shop window. Also organized my chainrings…always was concerned I’d run out of consumables like chainrings, chains and freewheels. I never really figured out what I had…they were all just stuffed into two boxes. Seems I’ve got enough…mostly 52 / 42, my favorite combination for 7-speed with a 13-24 freewheel.
All Campagnolo C-Record era, except for two on the floor and three in the pile with Stars and Stripes cardboard labels attached.

It'll take time but if you want maximum dollar for the collection it'd be best to sell in groupsets and/or individual parts.
I've bought part lots before but nothing close to this much. It took some time but eventually it all sold.
Good luck with selling and sorry to hear about the divorce.
