Is this pink beauty worth my effort?
I only have this one pic of the bike and I'm quite certain it's too large in size for me, but nevertheless I like how it looks. A lot.
Could you help me identify it and put a value tag next to it?
I know the cranks are Dura Ace and the brakes are 105, with Mavic wheels.
I have no idea what is the functional status.
Thank you!

This guy here thinks his is worth a milli --- -- err. $750.00 !!!!
But a lot of people on here would probably say it kind of depends on what that gold Columbus sticker above the shifters says and wjile i like the color - especially for an Italian bike - gives it a Giro tie -in , i would still look it over pretty good for signs of a re-paint
Personally i probably wouldnt give too much money for it unless said sticker was SL or SLX. If it said Aelle, Cromor, or Thron -- maybe $300 with the understanding that thats what the frameset alone is worth -- the parts-bin buildout suggests its been re-done a couple of times over the years -- that old Campagnolo 2 bolt post might be indicative of the original group that was on the bike though

CATALOGUES BOTTECCHIA: BOTTECCHIA 1992 (labibleduvelocataloguesbottecchia.blogspot.com)
According to this catalog, thats a 1992 colorway for an SL frameset. That seatpost predates the frameset by a good margin so i was wrong there, but the 105SC parts that are on the bike are definitely period correct , the Sante' brake levers are a few years prior to '92 also
Im sure you could massage it into a functional machine with that eclectic component mix fairly easily -- Shimano plays together (plays with itself?) really nicely but in my eyes , the value is still all in that nice SL frameset -- still put it at $500 at the top end

The golden one says SL but the "rainbow" stickers read "Campione del mondo 1966-85-86-89", which makes me think they were added.
I guess the bike is older than 1989.

The decals look to be in great shape for a Bottecchia of that age, which sort of makes me think repaint, but, if it fits you and is a price you can live with, it should be a decent ride (assuming it actually what it says it is). If I were looking at it, I'd buy it based on what I valued the frame for, because I'm the sort the takes bikes of that vintage and rebuilds them with 10 speed campagnolo parts, which would mean new wheels in this case too (probably also new seatpost and saddle and maybe new stem and bars - though I'd wait on that until I saw the measurements of those and if they worked for me).

Honestly, 2 reasons:
1. I prefer triples and those were the last widely made Campagnolo triples (there were some athena/potenza 11 speed triples, but those didn't sell well and are harder to find).
2. When I started doing it, the affordable Campagnolo were only 10 speed, and I still have a couple 10 speed triple cranksets (and RDs) in my hoard. Also, it's just what I know best.

Here's my 1989 Chorus SL (Columbus SL tubing) Professional for comparison. Note that the SL had its rear brake cable routed internally through the top tube.
The subject bike's rear brake cable is routed externally, which suggests it is either an older or lower level model Bottecchia.
Or it could be an older version of the SL Professional?

I could probably buy it for $200-250 but at this point I'm not sure it's worth it.

Is it worth $200-250 yes but I would suggest you pass it is a repaint with what seem to be some lesser somewhat random bin parts crank, RD. FD, seat, wheels, bars stem and pedals and then the list could go on.

Curious about how you were able to ascertain that it was repainted and its not a Bot.....from the pics it appears to have the correct front fork, if it's a Bot and the repaint is solid and no frame misalignment at 200 it would still be a good deal...BTJM, Ben

But I am 99% certain it's repainted, my untrained eye can see the imperfect shape of the colours edges, and it looks like it was painted yesterday.
I rode it for 1 kilometer and I liked it, so I might buy it after all.
