Weinmann 500 sidepulls - these are nice units that polish up well and are long reach (~55 mm or so). Cable attachment is on opposite side from standard or at least today's convention, not sure why Weinmann did it this way. Anyhow, I rate these in good+ condition. Will need pads as the originals are petrified. $25.00 Shipped.

Dia Compe center pulls - good+ condition, these will polish up nice. No pads and only 1 cable straddle clip (sorry), straddle cables in good condition. These are about 55 mm in reach to the center. $20.00 Shipped

Not sure either, but as I noted in another thread, I installed the Dura-Ace rear brake on my 1981-ish Schwinn Super Sport in front of the brake bridge because the top tube cable stops were on the "wrong" side. I don't know if we have a coincidence or related conundrums. Might it be possible that Schwinn demanded that from Weinmann? Our did Schwinn just respond to the handedness of the Weinmann product they sourced?

GLWS...

I used the Weinmanns for a while, just had to make sure cable reached to other side. Yeah, not sure what the thinking was, but these looked nice and worked well.
