I felt good this morning, and road my gravel bike on the road for my longest ride, 70 miles. Im still getting use to cycling after 40 years of running.

Im thinking about getting a road bike, but at age 65, I like the smooth ride of my gravel bike.

I rode 39 miles today. I also carry a $20 bill and also a credit card, ORCA card (bus pass), and an old ID card that has my correct personal info. I never carry a DL.

Just finished a nice 24 miles to and from the beach (Rockaway Peninsula in NYC), mostly flat. It’s nice being out there at 7 a.m.

Around the north end of Lake Washington

Longest in quite a while. 35.5 and about 1,700 feet of gain. Along the Interurban Trail and then east to the Burke Gilman Trail. Along Waynita Way into Kirkland. The Kirkland Connector Trail which has a few miles of gravel. Northrup Way to the 520 Bike Trail across the bridge and then through the Univ of Washington and home. The spur for the trip was that the 520 Bridge across Lake Washington was closed for construction making it QUIET whereas it is normally a complete assault on the ears!

You can do anything you want.

Actually, next week or so I will be in the land of metric and moderately confused, particularly with regard to temperature.

I had a heck of a time with the ol' ORCA card last week going/coming to/from LA. No problem on the bus.

73.5 miles, 4,700 feet. it was a pretty good day despite a late start and a bit of a chain snafu.

Cycling along the Interurban you must have come across a few homeless camps. Scenic North Seattle!
How was the construction work on Juanita? I've heard it can get pretty bad at times which is why I've been avoiding it this summer.
520 bridge must have been very quiet. I would think almost eerily quiet.

that’s actually the end! i always go through the presidio first, because those westerly winds will accelerate even me to 25+ at the end of a long ride… but the wind is shielded a bit going through the presidio by the hills/trees.

Actually, my friend wanted to do the Interurban since she said it has been cleared and it was - CLEARED

We used WAYNITA and NOT Juanita! Obviously, the naming was someone's idea of a joke. You wind up on 100th which is a trafficky arterial until the wetland. Then after the wetland boardwalk, we turned right and hit some parkland with a nice trail system that I'd never been on before.

I am trying to remember to call King Cty and ask about Juanita.
