Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Funny I just called my LBS yesterday and got prices, of course I think they are MSRP's but here was what they said...
R700- $1250
R800- $1550
R900- $1600
I would like to hear what some "street" prices are myself.

i think the msrp is actually a bit more, the prices you quoted are what the shops are selling for,

it looks like basically 50 dollars more than 2005 because of the frame change for r700

and 900 staying the same price, with the new 10 speed 105 r800 staying in line

They may be the "street" price but they didn't have any in stock and he had to pull his 06 price list to give me the prices. Therefore it seemed as though they were pulling prices off paper?

I'm not sure if the prices shown on this web site are "street", but they seem pretty good if they're accurate; even better if I can get my LBS to match them:

https://www.barrbike.com/2006_cannondale_prices.htm

Based on my limited research, $1600 for an R900 with Campy Veloce and Mavic Aksium wheels seems like a pretty good deal, even if it is MSRP.

oh, i meant to say that the prices you listed were indeed the street prices, i just bought a 2006 r700 for 1249

and i searched high and low, every cdale dealer within a 75 mile radius, everyones prices were the same

1249
1549
1599
respectively

the 05's were a different story, i found 2005 r700's from 899 - 1199

I'd definitely consider an '05 R900 if you're looking to save a little bit...

Beleive me if I had the money now I would get an 05'. Im getting a large chunk of change for taking part in a cycling study that my school is doing in january. That is the reason for the wait.

So whats the study, they give cyclists a large chunk of money and time them to see how fast they can spend it on cycling stuff?

Seriously though, whats the study? Whats a large chunk of change? How does one register?

What would the $350 change from a 05 to an 06 R700 account for, I mean why not get the 05 at clearnace? Surely not the 38 grams, are there other upgrades?

Especially in a double. I tried to find both an R900 and an R700 in a double without any luck. I lucked into an R700 triple, however, and I'm glad for it. It'll last me a while...

My local LBS has a couple 05 R900's in stock, just in weird sizes. I don't think they're discounting them either. They should if only because of the paint (that horrible blue). Where are you? Maybe I can hook you up.

Prices for 06's are spot on for N. Florida too.

The study, to put it shortly is for the military. After an hour and a half your immune system begins to shut down. 25 people are put on one drug( forgot the name) and 25 are put on another. Everyone is put on a diet for 6 weeks prior to testing. for the actual testing...each cyclist will ride for 3 hours straight for 3 days in a row at 75% of MHR. Only allowed to drink water, no power bars, gatorade etc. Muscle biopsies are done before and after the 3 hours on the first and third day.

each participant is paid 1,000

I think the R900 is a little cheaper for '06, I think they were $1650 or $1699 in '05. I know BGI in Indianapolis has a 58 or 60 '05 R900, or at least they did last week.
