A truly shameless self-promoting cross post...

I have been a paying member here for many years but must have let my membership lapse? I thought they billed me automatically....either way, I now see ads and can't post in the classifieds! Seeing as I don't really have time to ride my C&V bikes any more and it pains me to view this forum, I guess it's for the better.

Buy my 53.5cm Cinelli / Centurion... https://forums.thepaceline.net/showthread.php?t=167368

1983 Trek 700 24" Campagnolo Nuovo Gran Sport

[h=2]1983 Trek 700 24" Campagnolo Nuovo Gran Sport - $499 (Arlington, MA)[/h]

condition: good
make / manufacturer: Trek
model name / number: 700
serial number: 062000
size / dimensions: 24

more ads by this user

American classic, hand built Trek 1983 700. Condition is good and pretty.
Both frame and fork are Reynolds 531c.
The components are upgraded to Campagnolo Nuovo Gran Sport, not standard SunTour.
Brakes, levers, crankset, derailleur, etc. are all campy.
I can see some old grim but no rust.
Stem, pedals, tires and rims are not original. Saddle is original.
Wheels are rather modern Mavic G40 rims with Gator Skin tires. Hubs are Campagnolo.

Serial # on frame is 062000. 60TSI - Tim S. Isaac designed frame.
Size is 24". Seat tube length is 60cm. Top tube CC is 57.5cm.
Stand over height is 34" with my tape measure - so someone with 33" inseam and higher is suitable.
I'd say 5'10" and higher, because I'm 5'9" and a little too big for me, otherwise I'd happily ride it.
I set the saddle to the bottom, and that's about my height, but the top tube hits me when I stand.
(I need 21" frame, and all other bikes I have are indeed 52cm - 54cm.)

Price is negotiable depending on what you are going to do with it, because I want someone to actually ride the bike.
With this price, I can buy something similar on eBay - less nicer one goes for $500 or as high as $700 even with SunTour components. If I chop-shop this one, I can make killing on eBay, but as I said, I want someone to ride this bike.

I'd consider a trade with a bike with frame size 21" (21" is about 53.3cm. 52cm - 54cm), as long as it's as nice as this one.
(Yeah, bar tape is torn but that's an easy fix.)
I'm not into vintage-ness so any bike with good butted cromoly frame/cromoly fork at any age is a candidate for trade.

You can check out larger photos at
1983 Trek 700 24" · Tai's bike collection

If you have any more questions, please email me your cell #.
I'll not answer any other way.
No need for availability inquiry - if the posting is up, the bike is available.

Cash only.

FS: 59cm Rivendell All-Rounder - $2250 (Chappaqua)

What a beauty. Curt Goodrich build.

I would love to build one of these in the next year or two. Could consolidate quite a few bikes around here, that's for sure.

I can't justify another road bike right now, but this ~62cm Super Course for $100 sure is tempting:

Damn, and a 420 for $100 in my size too. trek 420 bicycle

EDIT2: Jebus, they just keep coming, 58cm Trek (400/500?) for $100: https://denver.craigslist.org/bik/4999342150.html. And I sent an inquiry on the SCourse, cause bikes.

Price seems a bit high for a low recognition parts mix on CL, but it's not crazy, and he might negotiate.

I could only pick up tomorrow night, and couldn't ship until next week as I'm out of town. If you can work that out with the buyer I can help you out. BTW, I have limited experience shipping full bikes, so you either take a gamble on me or factor in having my LBS do it (45 for the packaging + shipping from 80218.)

I was tempted too as it is my size, but it is to far a ride and I don't need any 'shrooms.

I always had a thing for Nishiki's (but never owned one) because it was the first true racing bike I ever rode.

Late 1980's Trek 520 Touring Bike - Great Condition
[h=2]Late 1980's Trek 520 Touring Bike - Great Condition - $350 (Bourne/South Shore)[/h]

condition: excellent
make / manufacturer: Trek
model name / number: 520

This is a vintage, all-original late 1980's Trek 520 -- nearly certain it's a 1989 -- touring bike with low miles. This bike is in excellent working order and condition. It's a large size (not sure on exact cm, but it was my father's bike and he is 6'4" - so it's likely a 64cm). Here are some details:

-Original Shimano Deore derailleurs and cranks
-Original Shimano 105 shifters & brake handles
-Original Shimano SLR canti brakes
-Original Vetta Gel seat
-Original Matrix TitanT rims (Made in USA)
-True Temper 4130 Cromo frame (Made in USA)
-Includes rear rack & Cannondale touring bag
-Includes water bottle and mini-pump holder

There are some scratches on the frame, but I can assure you that this bike has never been crashed. Take a look at the pics and let me know if you're interested or if you have questions.

Thanks!!
