Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

so I'm going to buy two team jerseys

I've never been a "sports guy" so I never really understood why people wore Derek Jeter jerseys, etc.

But. I just finishes watching the Paris-Roubaix and Ronde, and I'm blown away by Cancellarra and Boonen. Hence, I think I'm going to buy the saxo swiss champion jersey and the quickstep Belgian jersey. Maybe it'll insire me to pedal harder out there.

here's an even better idea - join a club, and buy their jersey.

design your own jersey in Adobe Illustrator....Send the design to me and I can have it made in my factory. Let me know if you'd like some template files

They're cool jerseys for sure. However, you'll regret it later...

generally no one buy you notices what jersey you're wearing, so definitely wear whatever makes you happy

I'd avoid wearing a "Champion" jersey if you didn't earn the right to wear it. I know they sell them to the public and all, but it's just not a good idea unless you want people to point and laugh. Well, maybe not point and laugh at you. Maybe just snicker behind your back.

the only team jersey I have is trek-discovery, but that's because they were a bargain at $20/ea.

Because the demand for team replica stuff approaches zero as experience goes up.

So it's cool to wear a Derek jeter jersey but not cancellara? Meh. I wouldn't be wearing it to have anyone think I "earned" it, obviously.

I have a discovery jersey solely because I like the discovery channel and it has a picture of the earth on it. I'm science nerdy. All my other jerseys are twin six & stuff like that.

More like, it's ok to wear a Saints jersey, but would you wear a super bowl ring?

And if the saints win the superbowl?
And if the guy on your jersey wins MVP?

It's just that baseball doesn't involve riding 6 inches away from one another at 20 some mph. If you want to, go ahead, but i've noticed that nobody wants to ride next to or behind the guy in the replica stuff. Your call. : )

So yeah, go ahead and buy their jersey. During summer I ride an old jersey of a club from Rijswijk (NL) and during winter I ride a Rabobank jersey,
In between I ride a plain red/black windstopper jacket.

Botto: I could use some new team jerseys. You guys still looking for overweight (not too fast) cyclists on the club?

Heh is that because it is perceived as indicative of inexperience? Or because it's dorky?
I avoid the guys in the "old farty bastard cycling club" jerseys. Can't believe anyone actually buys those.
