Man, for that price if it wasn't for that quill seatpost I might pick this one up. From what I read the frames were actually made by Klein but the seatposts are prone to cracking and you can't find replacements.

Ps. I truly envy your good fortune. I had a Lux but at 59cm it was simply too small a frame (I ride a 63cm) and I moved it on to Ididomoy - who promised me a photo of the bike on Red Square in Moscow! Anyway, that Fuso Lux was my gateway drug and one day I'll find one that fits me. Envious.

Got home about an hour ago and had enough daylight to take the wheelset off and just eyeball it til I couldn't see anymore.
It's in pretty great shape for 1985. It's from the original owner and he has it registered at the Moulton registry. I'll be re-registering it after I finish the build.
The Imron paint has a few chips in the usual places but I'd say 8 out of 10.
My plan is to take the entire Campagnolo Super Record group from my Univega Super Special and probably sell the frame since it's too big for me.
Really looking forward to getting this on the road!

Also, I would still want a shim further down the SP inside the ST to stabilize the long lever end.

I did a test fit and it seemed like it would. You'd till use the right size seatpost so I'm not sure why you'd need a shim. That said, if I had to seriously come up with a solution there are at least two other proven solutions. Several folks have made their own quill seatposts and still others just slotted and drilled the top of the seatpost area of the frame like a normal bike and used a standard clamp. A little digging here should find examples of both. Needless to say I looked into this before buying mine and figured there were plenty enough solutions out there to not let the quill seatpost worry me. Especially as cheap as these bikes usually are. You could part them out and be fine in most cases. If I remember correctly I paid $80 for mine.

I am not in the market per se, but if that was located near to me, I would definitely have wanted to check it out. I love the paint job and think it would great riding and really nice looking with modern components on it. Please do updates as you do the build. Also, I agree with Andy_K on the C&V post.

That and Merz "only" built around 400 frames and even though he sold through Cupertino, Palo-Alto, Adams Ave, California Peddler and Pacific Coast Cycles. He didn't promote himself much, the bikes and their following did that. It seems like just as he was really getting to be well known, he pulled the plug and went to Big S. Maybe he didn't want to ramp up production and compromise quality, again, who knows.

For $65 - buy for the parts on the Peugeot (fenders and bars) at minimum. I think those are aluminum rims on the Fuji, not rust, just dirt

Knowing my luck it was all super cheap. Let me guess, seller said "3 hubs for $10"?
Anyway, glad you're happy and got something. A local woman posted a Mixte for $25 with terrible photos, saying she didn't know who made it. I replied asking the wheel size as I needed some wheels. She said she'd ask her neighbour (?) about the wheels and later replied he said it had 24 inch tires. I thought they'd be either 700c or 27 inch and asked her to read the sidewalls. She replied they were 27s and I said I had to wait until my son came home with my truck but I'd be right over. By the time my son came home the she emailed to say her neighour took it. To add insult to injury, she said that when she looked the sidewalls she saw the frame had a sticker that said "531" and when she mentioned that sticker to her neighbour, he told her he wanted it because it "was a good bike". @W%~(EE%~!!!
