Trek/Specialized to Merge: Wall Street Journal
I can't post the link because of the WSJ paywall, but:
"Sources say the $1.2 billion deal will buy out Merida's shares of Specialized, then combine the two bicycle corporations through a stock swap. The new entity, tentatively named "Spekulum" will be, by far, the largest seller of quality bicycles in the United States, and is expected to make both brands much stronger competitors internationally."

I’m disappointed in the name.
It should be “Trekalized” in following with all the prior acquisitions.

The Justice Department is going to use a Spekulum so it can delve deeply into this transaction.

At least it's not a three-way merger into "Giant Spekulum".

i heard that the Huffington post will sell stems & then hurry up on branding them under the Murray name.
They claim that the materials used are organic, ore at least started out that way.
