I need to rotate my MRP chainguide mount plate on my 2015 Giant Glory Advanced 0. I pulled off the bottom bracket cup on the drive side. Whats the next step to rotate the mount plate? Do I need to remove the non-drive side botttom bracket cup? I think the non-drive side BB cup needs to be removed counter clockwise.

I removed the opposing side bb cup and that didn’t loosen the iscg05 mounting plate.

How is the plate attached to the frame?

Those are usually welded on.

I'm afraid you might be right. But it's a carbon frame. Where would they weld it to? The threaded bottom bracket insert? Could it be press fitted on?

If you look closely at the picture, you can see an indentation on the frame. I'm guessing Giant has that indent there as a guide to make sure the line worker installs / welds the mounting plate in the correct location.

I called MRP (chain guide manufacturer for my bike) and sent them a picture of the mounting plate. They said that's not their part and it appears to be off a few degrees. MRP isnt sure how to get that plate moved. They said to bring it to a giant dealer.

If it is indeed welded on it might be a warranty issue.

It is either welded to the shell before the shell gets bonded into the frame or its bonded onto the shell with epoxy.

Is there anyway to fix it? Sounds like Giant made a manufacturing error.

The chain touches the frame. This is with the guide rotated all the way counterclockwise.

I would fix it by extending those slots in the plate a little more, but I have a shop with machine tools. Some careful work with a dremel would get it done. You can't go too far or you'll run into that cutout near the top slot, but you should get a few more degrees of rotation.
