Terrible for salt environments with the factory rims, FYI. The chrome gets surface rust pretty quickly, but the internal wall support that forms the bead seat is prone to rotting out too, if left in a corrosive environment.

The OP said nothing about saltwater - I live in the land of 10,000 lakes my friend, all Freshwater. The R20 is not headed anytime soon on a boat either

If you want a C&V boat bike, Sedazarri used to make bikes expressly for that purpose.

If I had a larger boat, I'd be looking for an aluminum frame and a 3 speed hub. I'm not sure what hub I'd use, but "as rinko as possible" would be part of the consideration.
