What pedals would you recommend for Specialized Sirrus or a hybrid bike in general?
I’m looking to replace the stock pedals on my Sirrus 3.0 bike and I’d like to get some kind of flat/platform pedals that I can use with regular sneakers. I’ve seen plenty of nice pedals such as RF Chesters/Atlas, oneUp Aluminum, Specialized Bennies etc. and I like most of them but I hear the pins would easily destroy my regular sneakers.
The only pedals that I saw and that seem to be ‘regular sneaker friendly’ are Shimano PD-EF202. Problem is they seem to be pretty heavy and I cant find them anywhere in a store to see what they look like and how they feel in person.
Anyone has any suggestions? Any Sirrus owners that replaced their stock pedals to another flat pedals that they use with regular sneakers? Thanks!

I like minimal pins - I like a little traction but don't need a lot - so if the pins are too long for me I cut them down with an angle grinder.
I have some cheap Rock Bros pedals, extra large ones, that I'm very satisfied with. I don't think I cut the pins down on those. I had some Race Face Chesters and I did cut the pins down on those.

If you can find some Shimano Saint PD-MX80 pedals, they might fit the bill. I have them and like them a lot.

Thank you tyrion I’d like to avoid having to cut or mess with the pins nor do I think I have tools for that. I’ll check out the Rock Bros pedal though!
I like the Shimano Saint pedals but they too have metal pins. Did you use them with regular sneakers and if so didnt they they damage the shoes MrWasabi ? Thanks!

I have been extremely happy with these pedals:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ILX7OGA
The price is right and they are very grippy with regular sneakers. I hardly notice the pins and I have not noticed any damage to my sneakers.

MKS Sylvans are a great platform pedal and work well with sneakers.

I solved it by buying MTB riding shoes that have a thicker sole. Unfortunately, the pins on my stock pedals aren't long enough to grip well and I wind up slipping a bit. So these pedals may be in my future.

I have four bikes (two Sirrus', two MTB) in the house with these: Raceface Chester's. They wear well, are fairly lightweight, and haven't destroyed any shoes. You can buy them at many bike shops, and of course online.

Wife has Race Face Rides on her Sirrus. Pins are molded and not metal.
I use Race Face Aeffects on mine. Have not torn up shoes, but did nick the shin once. You learn to avoid that pretty quickly.

Zombie thread! Like the the Race Face Chester's I have on my hardtail mtb bike, but have taken out several of the screws on rock strikes.
Even testing out the knock off's, Fooker's so far on my hybrid. Not bad, but not sure on how long the bearings are going to last on Fookers. So far, liking the Chesters better.
Also testing the new PNW flat pedals on my ds mtn bike. So far these are nice.

LBS gave me set of pin pedals that I installed on my old Specialized Hardrock that are comparable to RF Chester, $15 less, and I supported the LBS in the process. They work well for single track with my daughter but I'm not a fan of metal pins on my hybrid so...
I removed the original pedals from the Quick 1 Disc and installed some aluminum Shimano PD-EF2002 flat pedals. I took them for a quick spin after the swap and they are an improvement of the original plastic pedals.
