2021 is all but in the books. What are your goals for 2022? How about just January?

My mileage was down this year. I'd like to get back to where I was in 2020 at just over 10,000 miles, but I just don't see that happening. If I can get to 9,000 miles in 2022 I'd be happy. For January, I'm going to shoot for 500 miles.

My mileage goal for 2022 is 400 miles/month, and if its running, participate in the annual November 100 mile ride around Lake Taupo in New Zealand.

Last year I made my yearly goal of 1200 miles , 100 mile average per month .
if I can do that again , I’ll be happy.
may not get a good start until spring.

December wasn't what I was hoping it would be but still the best riding year that I've ever had
I was planning my first overnight trip but I got sick so that still on the table and I want to do a century ride before I get too old lol

Well, for me 2021 is my first riding year. I didn't really get started until May, so I don't know what to expect for January. I'll try for another 150 miles (like December). As for the year, I managed 1,600 miles in 2021. I'm going to try for 2,200 miles in 2022.

January Goal: 100 miles
2022 Goal: 2,200 miles
Initially I was planning to try for 3,000 miles this year, but I want to do more cross training, so I have a triple goal for 2022 of 2,200 cycling miles, 100 hiking miles and 20 kayak trips on the water. Flatwater kayaking, not whitewater.
January 1 - 17.0 miles
January to date: 17.0 miles
2022 to date: 17.0 miles
2022 Goal: 2,200 miles
All my miles are outdoor miles on a 2011 Fuji Absolute 3 (unless otherwise noted) - my backup bike is a 1997 Trek 830.

January goal is minimum of 250 miles.
Fell way short of my goal in 2021 due to being diagnosed with AFIB in September. But I’m finally back on track, so the goal this year is to hit 3000 miles ( my goal from 2021 ). Also planning on doing my first Century.

Nice ride tonight, it was 20F warmer than last night. But last night was tough. Upper 20s, wore the same gear that has worked in these temps before. Body and feet were fine, but by the time I got home my hands were frozen. I couldn't feel my fingers and even had trouble with the keypad on the garage door and unclipping my helmet. Weird. I have some old mittens, will have to try them.

It was nippy outside today, and I just didn't have much energy for some reason. It's going to be really cold for the next few days, so not sure when I'll get another chance to ride.

There are a bunch of impressive stats from a bunch of motivated folks here, which is encouraging, but also encouraging me to step up my game. Strava says I rode 2,088 miles in 2021, which doesn't seem bad, but I do remember riding 1,000 miles in one month in 2020 (unemployment afforded time for such things then; can't say I'd like to go back to that situation anytime soon), so there should be plenty of room for improvement. 300 miles a month at minimum seems possible, and that would get me to 3600 for the year, so that's going to be my goal.
That said, I'm not off to a great start for January as it took me a week to get on the boards. Part of it is from being quarantined for half the week (stayed negative, thankfully), and it did rain a lot, but part of it has been from what I fear is my turning into a "weather weenie." In other words, there have been days where I woke up intending to ride, and convinced myself "It's too cold!" This is Southern California, that's not a great excuse. Yesterday I pushed myself enough to ride to work, it was densely foggy so the roads were pretty wet, and I assembled enough layers to keep from getting cold. Sorry if this sounds pathetic to those of you who ride where it's actually considered cold. Now if I can keep the leg cramps that kept me up most of last night from recurring, I think I'll be headed in the right direction.
1/7 - 27.1 mi.
MTD: 27.1
Goal: 300 mi.

Not a weenie, I think our bodies adjust quickly to what is considered cold where we live. You could be just as unhappy at 50F as I am at 25F.
Having said that, we got 8 inches of snow yesterday and I don’t think they plow the MUP I ride. Plus windy and low 20’s today, freezing rain tomorrow, bitter cold Tuesday (feels like single digits windy). Might be a while before I get back out. Not sure how the Canadian riders manage.
