Hello everyone,
Please bear with me as I'm no to the cycling scene. I'm on the hunt for my first bike and I've come across a 1995 Concorde for sale with a list pricing of 525CAD. The owner bought in new in 1995 and doesn't remember too much. I'm looking for some help on identifying the bike as well as any ideas of value. Here's the info I've collected so far. I would attach a photo but my account is too new so it won't let me post any quite yet. The frame is white and black with red, green and blue accents. There is no evident model name on the bike other than the 'concorde' and 'PDM' decals on the top tube. I haven't seen the bike yet but I am looking to go towards the end of the weekend.

- Columbus Aelle tubing
- PDM livery
- Shimano 105 SLR gear set and grouping
- Assembled in Canada.

Concorde got some mileage out of the PDM tie in. That color scheme was common from the mid 80's to the early 90's . I dont doubt the bike could have been purchased new in '95 , but i think was likely a leftover model, as the 105 SLR groupset was superceded by 105SC in 1990. Concorede used that paint scheme as late as '93 or 94 though - well after the team had disbanded i thought (but no different than Trek putting USPS replica graphics on everything either for years)

Aelle is a competition grade tubeset, but it is "entry level" in cost. If the bike is clean and needs very little , the owner has it priced pretty close i think.

As an aside - i chuckled when i put the word "entry level" im quotations regarding the Aelle tubeset. Most people who use the term (entry level) have never lined up for a cat 5 race (or cat 3 gravel , etc) -- It takes many many hours of dedicated and focused training for most people to hang on in an entyr level bike race

Thanks for that bit of info DMC! The bike looks very similar to what you've shared above, I've shared some photos to my page. The major difference would be that the frame is more-so black with white as a secondary colour. It sounds like I've found a good starter at a fair enough price? Thanks again!

Matching saddle is straight fire as well

Size of the bike looks like a 56-58 ish , so one thing to keep in mind is that size as usually that size is usable best for folks between 5'9" minimum and perhaps 6'1" maximum

Pretty spicy for sure! Owner says it's a 58. I'm about 6'2" and from charts I've looked at that size should fit for me. I'm going to check it out on Sunday so we'll see how it feels and fits when I take it for a spin.

The subject bicycle is a Concorde Colombo 105 SIS. Colombo referred to the Columbus Aelle frame and it was configiured four ways: You could buy it with either Shimano 105SC or Shimano 600 Ultegra, with either down tube shifter levers or brifters. The SLR mentioned by the seller is the acronym for Shimnao Linear Response, which refers to the braking system. It appears to be OEM, with the exception of the pedals. If could be slighly older than 1995, as suggested. MSRP was $1200-$1400 CDN, depending on the exact year.

Size does appear to be 58cm, or very close. That's probably at the small end of satisfactory sizing, depending on yourt body proportions.
