What road bike do you have?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

A few more that haven't been shared here or have been upgraded.

Just added some used, great condition gold Shamal Ultra's to this one.

Local pickup I grabbed, refurbished, and then donated to the local bike collective

Confirmed team bike, uncomfirmed Oscar Freire training bike. Has his name on it. Recently added the red spoked Racing 0 wheels.

1982 Krapf (Vanni Losa frame) I built up this winter. This shot taken after adding the handbuilt Dura Ace/Velocity Fusion wheels.

Swapped the C.F. tubular setup for these nice Eurus clincher wheels.

Sweet riding Motta Personal 2001r

Quantum Race, feels too big under me so listed for sale locally at a great price.

Steel/Aluminun bonded frame with Dura Ace/Ultegra build. Surprisingly nice rider that's pretty dang light too.

Here's my latest neo-retro build. It's a vintage custom frame that I bought off eBay. Columbus Minimal Fork and Araya 700C wheels from one of my previous bikes. I went with the Tiagra groupset since it works on 126mm spacing (9 of 10 cogs).

2017 Pegoretti Mxxxxxo. Built it 2 months ago. It comes alive when you put the gas to it but smooth at any speed.

My bike mechanic told me that "with this bike, if you're slow, that's on you bud."

Nice Winspace! You're running a 1x? What's the specs on the components and total weight?

I am indeed running a 1x (50t up front w/ a Wolf Tooth Chain Guide, 11-36 cassette in the back). Other specs:
  • Model: Winspace SLC2.0 (XS frame)
  • Wheelset: Lún HYPER 23 SE D45 Disc
  • Groupset: SRAM Force 1 w/ DoubleTap
  • Carbon Bottle Cages
  • Garmin Vector 2 Power Meter Pedals
  • Marquee Bar Tape
  • Specialized Romin Evo Saddle (but I might go back to my old favorite, a Bontrager Ajna)
Weighed in shop w/o bottle cages, bar tape, pedals, and head unit: 15 lbs/6.8 kg. All built up probably around 17 lbs/7.7kg.

There was creek in the headtube area that just kept getting worse. It's a risk I took by buying a used one piece handlebar. Upgraded the bars to new Black Inc 42/110. Nice and super clean finish.

Dogs always photobombing my bicycle pictures.

Science has shown that dog photobombs provide additional 23.66666666% aerodynamic gains, so this is a good sign for your overall speed.

Nice bike too btw. Black Inc. components are really nice. And the matching Bianchi bottles are *chef's kiss".

A 2008 Specialized Sequoia ... over the years I've needed to replace the front wheel, the front derailleur, the rear brake, the saddle (now using a nice sprung Brooks Champion Flyer). The Shimano brifters failed a couple of years ago ... I replaced with Microshift R8 Drop Bar Shifter Set which are smoother than the Shimano, and easier to install the inner cable. Over 10,000 miles on the odometer. A pleasure to ride. I love the simplicity ... cables and rim brakes!

Which do you prefer? Ultegra Di2 or Force eTap?

Ultegra, and by far. I would even take 105 DI2 over Force if I had the choice.

It's only the reason why I sold my '23. First and last time SRAM owner/user here. Absolutely hated it.

Not to be a Fan boy, but...... I freakin love this bike. I have been riding a Litespeed Palmares since 2000. I am pretty sure any new bike would be great but for the price nothing came close to this. Even if I take the price out of the equation I still would pick this bike. I bought a gravel bike last year and that was my first carbon fibre bike. When comparing the two bikes (I know they are for different purposes and each is better at what it is meant for) the Canyon just seems better in every way and seems like a better quality bike all around. I am sure there are a lot of intangibles that make me feel that way as I have wanted a Canyon for a while, but it exceeded expectations and I love riding it.
