...it was probably those images of a dog running through an alley with a human hand in its mouth...

They have a brick-and-mortar in Chicago, and they've been posting on their Facebook page the past couple of months. I hope it's just a blip on their online store, because I was planning on a couple of wheel builds. Haven't found any signs that they're closed or closing...

There's an older thread that indicates his eBay listings are gone, but contact him directly at marcus@yojimbosgarage.com.

I emailed him and purchased spokes about a year ago without an issue.

A friend of mine was in there recently to get some spokes cut. Marcus is still there. (Great shop to visit if you're in Chicago, BTW.)

That is nice and I have used it before, but I am not sure what rim I am going to use. Until I find the right rim then I will be able to compute the right spoke length. When you are dealing with a hub like this you need all the dimensions before you order.

Marcus is still very active, I just went to Yojimbo's on Friday and hung out with him for an hour and picked up a NOS Chris King 1" headset. Great guy, tons of knowledge and great bikes/parts/tools.

His hours are Friday 12 - 4, Saturday/Sunday 2 - 7, and Monday 12 - 4. I haven't ever e-mailed him, but he's picked up the phone every time I've called. I know he has a website, but I'm not sure how frequently it gets updated. Lately he's been posting a lot of stuff on Chicago Craigslist.

Like others have said, you should stop by if you live in/visit Chicago. He's a top tier mechanic, he's got two of any part you need for your bike, and he makes everyone feel welcome in his shop. He also just got a new shop kitten, which is a great excuse to visit.

Porkchop BMX has custom length USA made stainless steel 14ga spokes for 38 cents a pop.

I just ordered from them to build up a 20" 48h wheelset for a BMX build I'm working on.

They just added custom length 14ga colored spokes, they run anywhere from 32 cents to 65 cents each.

EDIT: Nipples sold separately.
