Addiction 2021.3

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

No good. My ratio would be 60/30/10 American/Cajun/Mexican. With plenty of seafood in the American and Cajun.

Depends on who's defining "American", though. For a lot of Americans, you're talking variations on meat and potatoes. MAYBE an occasional McDonald's Filet-O'-Fish.....

I heard on the news today that they “discovered” the cause of obesity and it’s not overeating, but rather it’s inactivity plus carbs/sugar.

I suspect it’s a lot more complicated than that, but makes for a tasty sound bite.

Not a fan of the Po-Boys, too much bread. There's plenty of opportunity to get fat on cajun food without all that damn bread.

Not a big fan of lobster rolls either. Same thing, too much bread. But I will take care of the lobster.

I hope this isn't too P&R, but I read today that on FaceBook and other Social Media sites, antivax groups are basically swapping recommendations for all kinds of random 'home remedies' for COVID. ANYTHING but the vaccine, including topical treatments like Betadine! I worry that we as a society are becoming dumber.

That's dumb. In my estimation, diet is about 76.3% of the problem.

Scientific research presented by the popular media - what's not to like? I'm sure it summarized the findings accurately, with all the proper caveats and conditionals and probabilities the original authors couched their conclusion in.

(Good quotes placement.) Must have been a study funded by the fast food cartel and Big Sugar. You know and I know people eat the wrong things, and too much of it.

Our neighbor is a Doc at the VA. She said that, every day now, she sees people bringing in some 20-page printouts "proving" that that one horse drug is a cure (they instituted a policy that they would not prescribe it). She also said that, every day now, she sees someone begging for the vax as they die. Stupid and sad.

I thought bleach was better, with a side of HCQ.

But hey, for a minute there, that apple fritter I mentioned earlier was looking pretty good.

The evidence of this is pretty strong.

There was a Mexican seafood restaurant we used to go to quite often. I could have eaten there every week, or more. Changed owners and the chef quit, that was the end of it.

I love bread. Sour dough, sweet wheat bread, pumpernickel, crusty french, rye of all kinds, anything with lots of flavor. My ex made coffee bread and it was wonderful.
I think I could survive on mostly bread. Maybe not.
