That's some nice weight savings! Thompson seat posts are really nice additions to any bike.

yes - big difference

tires are a tad wider - but yet weigh less and probably roll better

the seatpost / seat combo was a big upgrade ... the OEM seatpost and seat weighed 700 g - the new post and seat weigh just over 400 g

the new stem / bar / grips subtracted another 200 g

pedals - 150 g less ... combine with removed wheel reflectors (50 g) that was another 200 g subtracted

the shorter stem / wider bar combo appear to be a win - and so far (after one 20 mile ride) the seat is also a win ... but ya never know with seats ... I’m apparently one of the rare ones that can tolerate just about any seat (although I do have preferences) - but that’s not often the case

How did you decide on the VP-538 pedals? I see Cambria has them on sale for $12 right now.

$12 would be a great price for VP-538 pedals

went with VP-538 pedals on a few bikes because they met this criteria : plastic body - lightweight (260 g) - decent quality - low cost ($20)
