Just what is a commute?
Denver raises and interesting point in the thread "Did you commute today" when is asks if he must un-retire to particiapte in the thread. Is a commute only related to rides to and from one's employment?

You gonna eat that?
A commute is any regularly repeated trip. He's good.
EDIT: From Dictionary.com
For most of us, the term commute means commute to work. It's what we mean and the "to work" is implied. But "to work" is not a necessary part of commuting. I like to think of the day when my commute is to the coffee shop.
EDIT: From Dictionary.com
to travel regularly over some distance, as from a suburb into a city and back: He commutes to work by train.
