Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Makes sense. Glad she’s feeling better.

My wife had some sinus action and a headache for a few days and never tested positive after we were around friends that had it. I had a headache for a few days and also never tested +. But I think we both probably had it.

The woman who cuts my hair has a cousin that has had it three times. She’s vaxed and boosted allegedly.

Ritchey almost blew apart today on the trainer. Started making a knocking noise if I got it above 220 watts. I was taking it easy so I decided not to worry about it. Around mile 20 I looked down and the down tube was moving.

I havnt checked that down tube clamp in months. In the past when I did check it, it was always tight and I am always worried of snapping the clamp. oh well.

Nope. I’d read up on it before doing so. Lots of competing products at lower prices. They stopped production of new machines. Reports are that the home fitness craze is winding up.

a good way to gauge this is the price of used units. How many are out there and at what price? I'm not a savvy investor but it might have jumped the shark. Maybe the market is looking at the pandemic fueled doubling of sales and baking in a slow 2022 sales year and perhaps beyond.

YMMV

Just calculated my tax refund. Should be enough to replace the whole ac unit in the house. Plan on going with electric damnpers. Currently we have manual ones and the temperature control in the house is horrid. Upstairs is a furnace and down stairs is freezing.

I tried adjusting it last year and ended up directing so much heat back to the furnace it caused the furnace to shut off. We didn’t have heat for 3 days, so now I refuse to touch it.

If they start cutting instructors, does the point of owning a peloton become kind of mute? Asking for a friend.

The niners are a team that's peaking at just the right moment. It's pretty incredible how they've managed to get past the top teams in the NFC the last 3 weeks. Of course the key to their success is Deebo Samuel who is a beast. So long as he holds up they have a chance, unless the Rams or TB figure out how to stop him.

Both of today's games should be real good.

According to something that I heard on the news a few days ago was that the pandemic fitness equipment surge is coming to an end. I mean, really, how many units do you need to hang all of your clothes on.

I'm afraid to buy anything right now, but I do have too much cash sitting. I guess I should at least dump it into my 0.5% savings account tomorrow.

Same, but there is nowhere to put it at the moment.

Good ride. We had 5 riders. Start temp was about 24 and ended right around freezing. We did have to stop/dismount a couple of times for ice across the roads but we were careful and took it easy/winter pace.

Way better than Zwift.
