We can give you 100 reasons why you shouldn't, but if you have already made up your mind, you're going to buy it anyway.

Trikes are for little kids. A real adult rides a four wheel bike.

I saw the answer just a couple days ago. I was resting in my local park when a couple came riding in. She was on a (pretty traditional) trike and he followed behind on a DF bike. Woman parked her trike, which means she just stopped and got off. Male friend arrived. He stopped next to the trike and leaned his bike against it. See! Everybody’s happy! After visiting the appropriate restrooms the couple pedaled away. Why a trike? Because this.

To put it simple, an upright bike.

And DF is a better looking two letters than UB.

Can we stipulate that people's needs for recreational riding are completely different? Trikes would be completely useless for the recreational riding I do, but so is suspension and a whole host of things.

Pretty cleawolfchild was speaking for his own use, a blanket statement for everyone would have been silly.

rydabent , these threads would be a lot better if you focused on how you ride those 2000 miles and why the trike is great for that than silly denigration of df bikes and "racer boys". A heck of a lot of posts in this thread are from people who own and ride both or who ride with a spouse on a trike. You keep casting this as a "choose your team" issue, and that leads a whole bunch of people like myself to feel like we need to explain why we prefer df bikes. DF is one of the most successful industrial designs in the history of human manufacturing so our defending should not only be unnecessary, it's really boring. When literally billions of people globally operate a df bike every single day, arguing that it's a technology designed for "racer boys" is absurd .

Some people do not have the capacity to engage in actual discussion or discourse and as such deserve our sympathies for their limited abilities. Pathos exists in many forms and for some people, it is their norm.

Yet another rambling, endless rant/response to yet another rambling troll. And folks seem to fall for it every time, on a daily or certainly at a weekly pace.

Easy solution..add rydabent (or insert _____troll) to your ignore list..as I have have just done. Even, in the rare event, he comes up with something useful..I'll/we'll survive without reading those precious pearls wisdom.

I typically gloss over all these never ending threads to troll-bait..though they do get annoying as they clutter up the board with worthless junk.

One of these days, I have to get a ride in with rydabent just to verify he even rides a bike.

(actually...odds are high we passed one another without knowing it)

Nice headlights; I recognize them: Camelion, about $3 each--and pointed at the sky, no less!

Thanks for putting in the effort, but you could have just said "diamond frame."

I actually think the "I use a trike for..." responses have been pretty interesting even to someone like me who has no intention of using one anytime in the foreseeable future. plus there's been some nice stories about people who wouldn't have been able to ride together otherwise. OP gets no credit, but some of the thread responses have been really good and some are pretty funny.

Nah, the additional info might be helpful to someone who didn't know what "diamond frame" meant. It wasn't a terrible assumption since you couldn't figure out what DF meant from context.

I know what a diamond frame is, just didn't know that DF was referring to a diamond frame.

Well if you could not associate DF with diamond frame, then you needed a little help.

Know how many times one says diamond frame then someone asks, what is a diamond frame.

Two things--first, we can't read your mind so we don't know why you didn't pick it up from context, and second, the info might be helpful to someone who didn't know what a diamond frame is. I know that when I answer a question in a public forum, I might be addressing the answer to other people who have the same question, possibly for different reasons.

It just struck me as a bit impolite and kind of strange of you to admonish TheDudeIsHere for being a bit too helpful.
