The bicycle is modern enough that it should have a serial number with the manufacturing date built into the format. Once we know the year, we can go to the appropriate catalogue, assuming it is extant. Another important factor, is the OP's location, as Peugeot model designations and configurations could vary from country to country. In this case, the OP is from the UK. Pending the serial number information, a quick look through the UK catalogs brings up a Peugeot Guide F46, as the best match for frame style and overall configuration, though there are differences in components, notably the Huret versus Simplex shifting system. However, that could simply indicate a different model year. From the 1980 UK catalogue...

On older bikes, I always ASSUME they are not all original. Occasionally I do come across one that is all original, but that tends to be the exception. Also define "original". Does that include tires, brake pads, cables, etc.? Except for top of the line stuff, all original has no bearing on value and sometimes people change parts out to make the bike fit better or ride better, so it can be a nice improvement!

it’s not a collectors piece. If you like it and the price is reasonable, go ahead. Originality has zero impact on value.

Lights are one area where newer is almost always better. If someone replaced the factory light with an LED model, they did you a favor.

Having said that, these more mundane French bikes tend to look good and provide a really nice ride. I like them. A lot.
